Steven slowly dragged himself out of the bathroom. What was that? It was like some sort of gem heart attack! Steven wondered, still weak from the shock. As Steven walked out of the bathroom, he could see Garnet, roaming around the house examining the damage he had done. As he got closer to Garnet, the more he wished to run and hide. Steven knew Garnet would try to pry all of Steven's emotions out of him, especially after his outburst. Steven paused behind Garnet before tapping her on the shoulder, catching her attention. Garnet slowly turned around, revealing that Garnet had been crying. This made Steven feel worse than he already did. Garnet rarely breaks down, so seeing her like this made Steven feel horrible. "I'm really sorry... I don't know what that was." Steven apologized shyly. Garnet nodded. "I know." She replied. "Is there anything you need to tell us?" Garnet asked, removing her visor. "We'll listen. It just hurts me... us.. to see you like this." She placed her hand on Steven's shoulder. This wasn't just Garnet talking, it was Ruby and Sapphire this time, sometimes it was both. Steven felt tears form in his eyes, but tried his hardest to hold them back. He hesitated. He really wanted to tell her how he felt, about everything that happened and how it mentally scarred him. About all his feelings about the diamonds... about his own mom. How he wanted to love his mom.. but he couldn't. But something deep inside Steven was forcing him to keep all of these feelings inside.

"You'll just be a burden."

"You'll just cause a big issue."

"You'll hurt everyone."

"Nobody cares, your feelings don't matter"

"No... I-I'm OK!" Steven lied, plastering on a fake smile. "I think I just need some time to myself." Garnet nodded again. "I understand." she calmly assured.  "Thanks Garnet." Steven said as he got up to go to his room. As he walked up the stairs, his smile immediately disappeared. Even though he had just made up with Garnet, he still felt an emptiness in his soul. Like he still had this massive weight on his back that he could not remove. Steven crashed onto his bed, still thinking of that strange reaction his gem had earlier. "It can't be that serious, right?" Steven questioned. Just then, Steven's phone started ringing. He pulled his phone from out of his pocket.

It was an incoming call from Connie.
