Doug, Tom, and I were gathered in Fuller's office not long after he called us. Doug and I were sitting in the two chairs in front of Fuller's desk and Tom was standing behind us with one hand resting on each chair.
"Are we in trouble?"
"I don't know, Doug," Fuller responded, turning towards Doug with a stern expression on his face. "Is there something you should be in trouble for?"
Doug thought for a moment. "There's nothing I can think of."
"Good," said Fuller. "Let's keep it that way." Doug nodded in agreement.
"Well," began Tom,"what are we here for?"
"We've got a new case and I figured you, Ray, and Penhall would be the best officers for the job. As of late, Evermour High has been seeing an increased amount of drugs in students' lockers. Two brothers, Micheal and David Wilson, recently transferred and many teachers have claimed to have seen them dealing drugs throughout the school. This should be a clean bust, guys. I don't care who you go in as, but, these boys each have a record and are the top dogs in the school."
Doug looked at Tom with wide eyes. Tom seemed to understand whatever message Doug had telepathically sent him. "You know what this sounds like? This sounds like a job for-"
"THE MCQIAUD BROTHERS! HAH!"
"I'm sorry the what now?" I asked confused. Doug sent Tom another look.
"Are you seeing what I'm seeing, Tommy?" Doug said in a silly voice.
"Why, yes, Doug. I think I am," Tom said turning to me with a wide grin. "Our baby sister!"
I whirled around to Fuller. "I don't think like where this is going," I said alarmed. Fuller just shrugged.
"No no no, it'll be great," Doug said.
"Look, it's almost time to leave," Tom stated. "Why don't we grab a beer at my place and talk about our identities. We can fill you in, (Y/n), and create your own McQuaid persona."
I stared at them both blankly. "Okay, why the hell not," I finally said while throwing my arms up in the air.
"You guys behave. And don't scare (Y/n) off. Just call me later tonight about what you've decided on and I'll have your transcripts ready in the morning," Captain Fuller said.
"Alright, Captain," said Doug.
Tom, Doug, and I left Fuller's office and as soon as his door was closed, Tom and Doug started chanting "We're gonna have a sister! We're gonna have a sister!"
"I'm going to call home and tell Charles what's up, guys. Then we can head to Tom's."
"Sounds great," Doug said.
I walked to my desk and dialed the apartment. After a few rings, Charles picked up. "Hey, Baby, what's up?"
"Hey. I was just assigned a case.Me and my new partners, Doug and Tom, are gonna head to Tom's house to talk about a case for awhile. I figured I'd give you a heads up."
"Alright. I'm planning on saying hi to the neighbors if you're okay with it."
"Sure, tell them I said hi too."
"I will. Be safe!"
"I will. Bye, Hun."
"Bye."
"Hey, why don't you put all of your shopping bags in my car and I can follow you home after were done talking about the case," Tom offered. I had about 15 bags and there was no way I'd be able to fit them all on my bike and drive safely.
