I woke up to an empty bed. Not surprising considering Charles' actions lately, but it still hurt like hell. I'm going to find out what's happening no matter what. I pulled myself out of bed and into the bathroom where I took a shower then dried my hair, deciding to leave it down for the day. I changed into bleached jean shorts and a cropped t-shirt. I slid on some white shoes and walked to the kitchen. I made myself a bagel and had an apple before grabbing the keys to my motorcycle, my jacket, and my helmet. I had an uneventful drive to Jump Street and met Tom in the parking lot.
"Hey, stranger," I said, dismounting my bike.
"Hey," he replied. "No matter how many times you ride your bike into the lot, I'll never get over how awesome it is," Tom proclaimed.
"What about it's rider," I said slightly offended.
"Meh," Tom shrugged.
"Meh?! Why you little- come here!" I said running towards Tom.
"Uh oh," he said, taking off towards the stairs, climbing them two at a time.
"Not fair!"
"I can't help the fact that your legs are short," Tom called, opening the door and entering the chapel.
"I can't help the fact that your legs are short," I mocked in a high pitched voice to no one in particular. I finished climbing the stairs and entered the chapel. I placed my helmet and keys on my desk then met Tom and Fuller in Fuller's office. "Howdy, Chief," I greeted.
"Happy Friday, Ray," Fuller responded.
"Oh, jeez. I almost forgot," I realized.
"How could you forget it's Friday?" Tom asked.
"Oh, shush," I sighed. Tom laugh and I shot him the meanest glare I could muster. It must not have been very mean looking since it only worsened his angelic laughing.
"Quiet, you two," Fuller said. "What's your plan for today?"
"Make it through the day, if we're lucky find Tim Smith- the supposed gun dealer- then audition," I stated. Tom nodded, agreeing with me.
"Sounds good," Fuller said. "Be careful you don't get on Smith's bad side."
"We won't," Tom said.
"Alight. Now get out and break a leg," Fuller exclaimed.
Tom and I stopped at our desks before we headed out. I, hung up my jacket, put my helmet in my bottom drawer, and grabbed a bag of chips. I also threw a bag of chips to Tom.
"Thanks! We taking my car today?" he asked.
"Yeah. Unless you want to get on the back of my bike," I said, wiggling my eyebrows at him.
He chuckled. "As much as I'd love to, I don't think that'd be the best way to roll up to school."
"That's fair, besides, I don't have my extra helmet with me," I explained.
We headed out to Tom's mustang and drove to school. I hadn't noticed what Tom was wearing until we got into the car. His hair was styled the same way it was yesterday, and he had on the same glasses, however, he had a on a different sweater and a pair of ripped jeans. We got to school then headed inside to our first class.
The first half of the day went by uneventfully but I did manage to make a few friends in the popular clique by lunch. I met up with Tom in the lunchroom and we decided to sit down at a fairly empty table.
"I signed us up on the try-out list outside the drama room," Tom said.
"Oh thanks! I completely forgot about that," I realized.
