Naeef's pov

I heard the muffled voices inside the room and sighed. Jabir was seated beside me. Since the time he heard about the baby, his smile hadn't leave his face. I'm happy that he's finally a father. I checked the time and waited. This is my nth time glancing my watch and Jabir asked “What happened? Why are you in a hurry?” He asked. I chuckled and shook my head. The room was filled with women. Their laughter and chatters echoed inside. I again checked the time and ran down impatiently. What's taking her so long to come? Didn't she write well the exam or did she got struck somewhere? All these thoughts disturbed my inner peace. I took my phone and tried Laiha's number once again hoping to answer. But her phone was switched off like before.

Oh god, I hope she's safe. I wonder what's taking her so long. Jabir accompanied me to walk down the prayer room. Suddenly, my eyes landed on something. A guy and a girl hugging eachother. I smiled, mentally praying for their eternal love and happiness. But before I could turn, I stopped seeing that. That was Laiha's hijab and that, the boy seemed as Ayman.

This could get worse if Jabir sees this. But before I could stop Jabir from heading, I could already see the fist clutched, furious jabir. His eyes gone so red that I'd never seen this side of him.

Laiha froze seeing us. Her widened eyes spoke untold stories. A fuming Jabir scurried near her while, I stood infront of Laiha to protect her. Jabir tired to get hold of her, while I tried to move him away. My heart began aching. I didn't know why I feel so sad. Is it because Laiha getting caught or is it seeing her in Ayman's embrace.

‘‘You dishounered us.”Jabir shouted.

‘‘Jabir, please. This is a hospital. Let's go home and talk about it.” I pushed Jabir and he looked at me and turned around to see few peoples eyes on us. ‘‘Naeef, don't you think you hold responsible over this? We let her walk around and we let her go to the same college as you go because we trusted you. Don't tell that you're unaware of her relation.”

I looked down ashamed of failing to protect her.

‘‘Brother, please listen-” Jabir looked away and said, ‘‘Don't you dare call me like that. I'm ashaned of your actions.” He then walked away leaving us.

She looked at me, her eyes apologized but I looked away not knowing what to do. I was to blame, she was my right and responsibility.

I ran into my car and  drove. I wonder how many miles I've gone, but I'm sure that I was far away from her.

Don't think of her. It's your fault. It's only your fault. You shouldn't have fallen for her in the first place. You should've controlled yourself from falling. You should've thought of running away from her. You already know she loves someone, yet you decided to love her. Now promise that you'll stop loving her.

Now!

My innersense yelled. I shook my head. I couldn't promise. I still have hope and I can't stop loving her. I love her. I'll still love her even if she gets married to Ayman. I pulled up in the driveway and started crying. I sobbed until relief wash over me.

Crying makes a girl strong, a guy even stronger. I heard my phone ringing and I knew it was her. I put that in silent and drove back  home.
