Sitting at breakfast, the following week was tense. Austin has already gone off to work so me and Jack just sat there in silence, and it was the quiet I liked. Maybe I was being over dramatic, but what he said about Austin was out of line to me.

"Do you want to go for a ride today?" Jack asked out of the blue.

"Yea" I replied, grabbing my plate and walking over to the sink. I rinse my plate before sitting it in the dishwasher.

Heading outside, me and Jack are side by side. "I didn't mean for it to come out rude," Jack said to me and I just looked up at him.

"I just don't know him. I didn't know if he was a good guy."Jack continues and then sighs, "He is, we got to talking and I know why you guys are friends. I should have trusted that you wouldn't let some weirdo move in"

"Thank you for saying that." I tell him "I was also being dramatic with the whole 'my house' thing, we all live in it, It's all of our houses"

We reach the barn and gather our riding gear, after we had it all ready I went over to Loki and put gear on him while Jack moves over to Roxie to get her ready.

As we trot through one of the trails in the back. "It's beautiful out here" Jack says after a couple of moments of silence had passed.

"It is," I replied only to turn and see him looking at me. Such a cliche moment I thought to myself.

After getting home, I ask the boys if they want to have some people over for a movie night. They said of course said yes, and are inviting a couple of friends over. I'm going to call Hannah, I haven't seen her in awhile.

Hannah is a girl I worked with when I was working third shifts at the hospital. She has medium length blonde hair with light blue eyes. Hannah is one of the sweetest people I know.

"Hey Han, what are you doing tonight?" I ask once she picks up the phone

"Nothing, why whats up?" She replies and I hear slight rustling on her end

"Wanna come over for a movie night?" I ask before continuing "I want you to meet an old friend of mine."

"Yea, what time should I head over?" She asks, "Are you inviting Tom?"

"Just come by around 7, and yea i'll give him a call." I say and then we say our goodbyes. Jack said he is inviting over a friend of his. I really hope it isn't Savannah. Austin said he doesn't have many friends since they are all still in the Army, they got deployed a couple of days ago.

After calling Tom, he told me he will be there. so I'm baking cookies for everyone tonight. I place the cookie tray in the oven just as I hear the doorbell ring.

Opening the door I found someone I didn't think I'd ever see. "Hey, Reign right?" he asked.

It was the hot bartender I had gave my number to, he never called and thought he forgot about it. I was ok with it though. "Yea, but I never caught your name."

"Oh, right, I'm Eric" He says and extends his hand for me to shake.

I shake his hand "Hi, Eric." I say with a light chuckle "May I ask why you are at my house?"

"My friend, Jack, said something about a movie night," He says and I am stunned, by not knowing him and Jack knew each other. "I must have the wrong address, I'll be going" he says, turning around.

"You don't" I slightly yell, he turns around to face me, "Jack also lives here, I was just a little shocked. I wasn't aware that you and Jack knew each other." I step out of the doorway to make room for him to come in.

"JACK" I yell for him to come out and greet his friend.

Jack comes around the corner and does this man hug with Eric.

"Reign meet Er--" I cut Jack off before he can finish

"We already know each other," I tell Jack as I walk into the Kitchen to check on the cookies I am baking.

"How do you two know each other?" Jack questions while looking in between me and Eric

"We met at the bar he works at a month or so ago," I reply as I'm pointing the spatula at Eric

"She gave me her number, but I never called her" Eric says "She's the girl I told you about"

"Why did you never call?" I question just a tad bit curious "It's sweet you talked about me"

"I had personal things going on after. I'm sorry that I never did call." He tells me

I shake my head "Don't be, I was also having personal issues after that day."

"Well, since everyone knows everyone. Who did you invite Reign" Jack asks me, changing the topic.

"I invited Hannah, and Tom." I tell him as I pull the cookies out of the oven and place them on the counter. "Did you invite anyone else?" I ask, secretly wondering if Savannah was going to be here.

"Nope." He says as Austin walks into the room.

Austin walks over to me and hugs me for a minute, then leans down to my ear "I don't know if I can be here tonight"

I look up at him confused, then turn to Eric and Jack, who are sending us confused looks. "Will you please excuse us for a second." I say as I grab Austin's hand and pull him upstairs to my room.

"What's wrong? Did something happen?" I ask him

"I haven't been around many people since him." He says "I don't know how to be a friend, or how to get new friends."

"Just come down and watch the movie with everyone. If you truly don't like it, I will send everyone home and me and you can have a movie night to ourselves. OK?" He looks like he wants to argue but agrees.

I give him a hug before going downstairs. Austin's outer appearance may have changed but he's still the shy teen i once knew on the inside. It's nice knowing not everything has changed.

Once we hit the bottom of the stairs, I look at Jack and Eric to find them talking amongst themselves while eating the cookies. I walk over and take the rest of the cookies and shake my head at them.
