Love is Clueless

Chapter 19

Returning home, the house is quite and everyone's vehicles are gone. I unlock the door and see Jack asleep on the couch, was he waiting for me to get home?

Putting my keys and wallet down on the table, I take my shoes off and walk over to Jack, slightly shacking him. "Jack wake up" I say quietly

"Reign?" he asks then realizes what he says and quickly sits up.

"I'm here." I tell him and he hugs me with a squeeze.

"I was worried about you" he said staring into my eyes

I give him a small smile "it's a lot to take in, I just needed some air"

He returned the small smile but then went serious "you said you love me"

My heart stops for a second, I'm not sure what to say. I do love him but what if he thinks it was too soon?

He grabs my face and turns me to face him "Stop overthinking it Reign, I love you too and I'm not going anywhere"

His words make a warm feeling surge threw me and make butterflies abrupt in my stomach. He says simple things, but they make my heart go into over drive.

I laid my head on his shoulder, and we sat there and just held each other. He's helped me in more ways than he could possibly think, I've loved him for a while but couldn't admit it until now. I love Jack Lee Anderson and I never want to loose him.

The next day I wake up on the couch still in Jack's arms, I feel his breath lightly fanning my face as I look up to see him still asleep. I lean up slowly and kiss him on his cheek but it wakes him up.

Jack opened his eyes and gave me the most breath taking smile, "good morning beautiful" he whispers

The same warm feeling surges threw me as my face gets red. I should be use to blushing near him, I whisper back "good morning jack"

I pulled gently from him and stood up, "I should probably make breakfast before everyone wakes up"

I started making my way into the kitchen, when Jack says "I have to tell you something" I turn to look at him and stop short when I see a mixed emotion between serious and sad.

"What is it jack?" I ask taking a step towards him.

"Daniel left a phone number he wants to meet up with you somewhere and talk," He tells me and I stop short of breath. Am I ready for this.

"Ill call him after breakfast." I tell him.

I continue off to the kitchen and start making eggs while the boys start to head down the stairs. Austin is rubbing his eyes while Tom looks like he is about to fall over.

"Did you guys know?" I ask the two once they sit down not looking up from the stove.

"Reign, let me-" Tom starts to say

"it is a yes or no question." I tell them while scrambling the eggs.

"Yes" they both say in a whisper like voice.

"And you didn't tell me this why?" I question keeping my voice emotionless.

"I couldn't." Austin says "He went into a coma and they said he wouldn't ever wake up. One day he did wake up, I wanted to tell you right away but you were just getting back to being happy. I couldn't bring myself to it. So I went to the hospital myself. He was awake but he had no memory, he didn't even know his name. They said he would never get it back."

"So you decided to leave a huge part of my life out, and not tell me?" I question "that was a stupid decision, I don't know when I can forgive you guys." I say giving them their plates and walking up to my room.

Sitting on my bed I hear a knock at the door. "who is it?" I ask

"It's me, Jack"

"Come in" I sigh, he walks over and sits on the bed beside me. He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a piece of paper. "This is his number," He tells me.

"I love you, but I also know you still love him so I will wait, you need to get closure with him before we can work out. If you never do this than we will never truly be happy" He finishes putting a hand on my check, "Just don't forget I love you."

He places a kiss on my forehead, he grabs the hand I have the paper in giving it a quick squeeze before standing up and walking out of the room.

I look at the piece of paper in my hand. I pick up my phone and dial the number on it.

"Hello" Daniels voice answers on the other end of the line.

"Hi, its Reign." I take a deep breath "We need to talk."

Sitting at the Café table I am waiting for Daniel to show up. Arbadella comes to my table and asks if I'm ready to order. "Ill take 2 of my usual orders please."

Hearing the chime on of the doorbell open I look up and see Daniel looking around, "Is that, no it cant be." I hear Arbadella say.

"You should have seen how shocked I was when he knocked on my door." I tell her. She looks down at me and squeeze's my hand "I want details when he leaves.

I give her a nod before standing up motioning Daniel over to where I was sitting. "So I already ordered for you, I ordered your usual that we use to get together." I tell him

"Why did you choose this place?" he questions me.

"This was our spot." I tell him "We came here on our first date and met the owner, Arbadella, she was the older lady I was just talking to."

"When did we meet?" He questions sounding interested.

"We met the first day of freshman year. You were a new student and I was showing you around. You almost beat up a jock who shoulder checked me almost making me fall." I tell him with a smile on my face.

" So we've known each other for a long time?" He asks me

"Yea, we were the popular couple in high school, got together and stayed together all through high school and even after." I tell him

"Can you tell me what I was like?" He asks me

"Yes, but where should I start." I tell him looking off into space. "Our first date was....."
