Love is Clueless

Chapter 9

Waking up to my phone ringing, I roll over and groggily answer, "Hello" I say

"Get up and get ready. I'm on my way to pick you up." I hear Ashleys voice.

"What time is it?" I ask

"Its 7:30 AM now get up and get ready, I'm almost there." She ends the call and I get up going into my bathroom to start the shower.

Climbing out of the shower, I wrap myself in my fluffy white towel and go to my closet. Grabbing my White knitted sweater with my light ripped jeans Iget dressed, slipping on my white converse.

I was walking down the stairs when I heard a car honk, without looking I already know it's Ashley so I make my way to the front door and was about to open it when Jack appeared leaning on the door frame of the kitchen.

"Hey, where are you going this early?" He questioned
I gave him a small smile "I have to go with Ashley today, she called and told me to get ready." I say then twist the door knob and walk outside. I see Ashley's red Dodge Charger parked outside so I walk up to it and open the passenger door and climb in.

We pulled up to the café around the corner from the hospital. going inside I am greeted by the owner. "Good morning Reign, do you want your usual?"

"Good morning Arbadella" I greet her with a smile, "yes but make that 2, please"

"No problem, I'll be right back with that" She smiles and walks back behind the light tan colored counter to tell the chief our orders.

"Why did you want me out of bed?" I ask Ashley as she puts down her phone and faces me.

"I've been texting Jack," She begins and I give her a weird look. Why would she be telling me this? Are they hooking up? "As much as I like him, the feeling doesn't seem to be mutual. He was telling me about what happened last night."

"So what? his ex showed up, what does any of this have to do with me?" I'm starting to get annoyed at this point.

"You threatened her," Ashley said. As much of a hoe Ashley is, she is still my little sister who knows me all to well. "I know how you feel" She begins but I cut her off.

"Do you Ashley, do you know how I feel? You know what it feels like to have your one true love die? He was my fiance Ashley. You don't understand, you haven't been in love." I stated

"He's dead, he would want you to move on." She softly states

"Everytime I see or think of Jack in that way a part of me feels like I'm cheating on him Ashley. It breaks my heart." I say as my eyes start to fill with tears.

"Daniel loved you. He still loves you, and you still love him." She says as she places a hand on mine "You will never stop loving him, he will always be a piece of you.

"Well well well, what do we have here?" I snapped my head around to see Savannah standing next to the table.

"What do you want, Savannah?" I questioned with a sigh, I feel drained at this point.

"So this is Savannah," Ashley says, looking up at her. I begin "How do you know her name? I never told you."

"Jack told me," She said looking up at Savannah with a crazy look in her eyes. "He said she was crazy but she doesn't know true crazy yet"

"Funny" Savannah said "I was just here to tell Reign that me and Jack will be getting back together, so she can move out of his house at any time." She begins to walk away when Ashley grabs her arm and turns her around.

"Bitch listen here and listen closely. Jack thinks you are a fucking psycho and a stalker and will most likely be getting a restraining order on you. Don't try to act crazy because sweetheart I'm the fucking Joker." Ashley said then whispers something into Savannah's ear before Savannah's face flushes a pale white and she walks away.

"What did you say to her?" I ask Ashley

"Nothing that's important." She replies.

I shake my head and laugh at her, this is why she is my sister.

The ride home was quiet, it wasn't exactly the good kind or the bad. The encounter with Savannah and the conversation about Daniel has my heart conflicted. It's hard to think of moving on when I was going to be his wife in a couple of weeks and then it was shattered. I never got to marry the man I loved with all my heart yet here I am.. forced to pick between moving on or hanging on.

When we pulled into the driveway, Ashley was silent so we sat in the car for a few minutes before she spoke up
"I love you Reign, and you deserve to be happy more than any of us." She said with a sad smile,
I gave her a small smile and replied "I will someday" and I got out of her car after closing the door I knocked on the window. She rolled it down and I said "You deserve love too" and walked into the house.

The house was quiet. Jack must be out on the farm and Austin is at work. So I made my way to the back door and slid on my mud boots before I continued outside. As I walked out, I was greeted by Jack bathing the horses so I walked over to their pens and began to set out their mix of food and water. When I was on the last pen, jack walked into the barn with no shirt on.
