"There you go. This'll make you feel better," her sweet voice said as she handed a pill and a cup of water to a hunched over girl. She then ran to the kid throwing up in the bathroom and knocked. "Hey there, Trooper," she said with a sweet smile. "I'll give you some water. When you're finished, you can lie down on the bed and I'll call your mom."

She was volunteering in the nurse's office, offering a helping hand to everyone.

I gently tried to tap her as she was focused in digging through the files to look for the boy's parents I presumed, until she whisked away before my finger could even touch her shoulders.

I don't even think she knew I was here!

She was always on her feet, running back and forth, from patient to patient. One room to the next.

Finally, I opened my mouth and coughed. "Umm, excuse m-

"Just a second!", she said as she frantically dialed the phone, wrote a note for the girl to go to class, and took the temperature of a new patient. "Just lie down right at that couch, Jimmy," she shouted looking over at the other room. "Hi! Yes! Good morning! Is this Jimmy Backster's mother?"

As she continued her work, I figured I'd go easy on her and not pile more shit on her plate. So I sat down and shut my mouth.

After 3 minutes, Jimmy was put down and the curtain closed, the girl was back to class, and the other kid was given an Ibuprofen for his headache. She finally sat down next to me, STILL not even realizing it was the boy she had met not 10 minutes ago.

I smiled as she put her head on my shoulder. She let out a sigh of relief. She glanced over at the leather padding that her head was resting on.

"Well, hi there babe," I said as I smirked. She scoffed and lifted her head. "What are you doing here?", she asked. "Oh, jeez. Are you the guy I was asked to guide?", she groaned.

"Guilty," I said smiling like a dumbass. She took my roster and then looked at her watch. Suddenly, the head nurse walked in and patted Jenny on the back. "Good work, Jenny."

"Thank you, Nurse Anne. I'll see you next Monday!", she said with her sweet voice. She took my hand and pulled me out of the office into the bustling hallway. "Well, it's 7:20. I gotta get to my band rehearsal at 7:30 so lemme show you your classes for today."

She continued to pull my hand, saying "Hi! Hello there! Good morning! Hey babe!", here and there to almost everyone. Queen bee? No. She's not the type. School slut? Definitely not. Not her.
