Hunter
She finally let me out of the closet and she tip toed with me to the front door. We sneaked behind her step brother and outside where we ran to the park across the street and stayed out of the view of her parents.
She sighed and began to cry. I immediately hugged her and comforted her. This girl, whom I've known for only a few hours, who I had a debate with today, who I flirted heavily with...
And fantasized sexually about as well as having kids with her
...is crying on my shoulder! I felt terrible.
"Who was that guy?", I asked. She wiped her tears and straightened up. "My perv of a stepbrother. He's a pig," she said as she wiped the tears away quickly from her face.
I rubbed her back and took her hands into mine, "I hate the way your step family treats you, Jenny."
She tried to give me a smile behind her tearful eyes, but she failed. And she just weeped in my chest again. I petted her hair and embraced her. I kissed her forehead and held her close.
That was really all she needed. This smart, beautiful, talented, sweet Angel was in a house full of demons, except for her little brother and her dog. God, she needed to get out.
"Listen," I said as I pulled her back and wiped her tears from her cheeks with my thumbs. I cupped her cheeks and pushed away her baby hair from her face.
"Let me take you out tonight." She scoffed and chuckled. "You barely know me," she said still wiping her tears. "Well you just confided in me and stained my shirt with wet mascara. So I think you know me pretty well."
She immediately looked to my white T to see smudged black marks. "Oh God! I'm so so sorry!", she said. I chuckled. "It's not a problem at all." She smiled and said, "But, no guy has ever asked me out."
I tilted my head and looked off into the distance. "Well, maybe cuz they're too shy. Or idiots," I said as I smiled and looked at her.
She blushed and looked down at her hands. "Plus," I said as I turned to look at her. "I want to get to know you better." She smiled and said, "Ok. Where would we go?", she asked.
"There's a little carnival outside of town. It's a cute little place, for kids too. Not just teens and the elderly," I joked as we both chuckled.
"I guess. I'll tell my parents its a get-together for a one of Caleb's friend's birthday party. They're going to dinner anyway. Mondays are dinner nights."
"Perfect," I said. "I'll bring Cindy. Maybe her and Caleb could be friends."
Jenny smiled and stood up. "Could you pick me up at 6?", she asked. I stood up."Yeah, but we can't travel with two kids on that little bike. I'm gonna take my car."
"Can't wait," she said. Before she walked away she walked back to me and said, "Thank you for comforting me. I don't usually like to show my weakness in front of people. I just-
"Human expression isn't a form of weakness. It's a release of emotions. And emotions are worth expressing. Please, whenever you need me, I'm here for you," I said.
She smiled and gave me a kiss on the cheek. "I'll see you at 6," she said in my ear. As she walked away, I watched her enter back into that house. I had mixed emotions about her sweet lips and killing her family and saving her from that hell house.
She kissed me.
I might kill her stepbrother.
I waited until her whole family was inside when I went to turn on my bike and drove home.
