"GAH!" Keefe teased making Sophie jump, "Is there a reason you look like you've been wrestling with a monster?" he asked grinning when Sophie turned red, " Because I was TRYING to keep Wynn and Luna away from the Gorgodon!" Sophie huffed trying to catching her breath. Keefe laughed as he plucked a leaf from her hair, "You know, you might wanna get cleaned up cause the others are going to be here in like 20 minutes." Keefe winked, "OR we could scare the wits out of the Forklenater!" he said enthusiastically, "I vote for the second!" Ro cut in, "What? I want to see him jump." she said, "As much fun as that sounds, the council will be here and while I'm not going to be all Regent dressed it'd be best not to be a mud monster." Sophie said though she couldn't help smiling at the image of a scared Forkle. "Ugh, she's so logical." Ro complained, "Eh, what else is new? This is why I'm the cool one." Keefe teased. "Come on, just be prepared for some epic rudeness." Sophie sighed, "From who?" Keefe asked raising an eyebrow, "Vertina." Sophie grumbled. "AHHHHHH! What have you DONE?" a little voice screamed making Keefe scream, "THIS is not my fault. This is because Wynn and Luna have VERY poor taste in friends." Sophie said defensively, as she reached for her brush. "No uh! No way go shower, I'll talk to your scaredy cat of a friend while your gone." Vertina commanded, Sophie sighed as she grabbed a red tunic and went to shower. "Ok, now what." Sophie grumbled sitting down after she showered, "Wait, is Foster agreeing to a makeover?" Keefe said gasping and clutching is chest, "Yeah, and if you tell Biana she'll want to do it everyday so don't!" Sophie warned, "Plus, she has to keep you boys on your toes." Ro winked, "Hey, mirror lady! Can I help?" Ro asked Vertina, Sophie groaned when she agreed. 5 minutes later she looked like an entirely different person. "Woah," Keefe breathed, "What?" Sophie asked immediately reaching for her hair, "Is it to much" she said reaching to take out the ponytail. "No," Keefe grabbed her wrist, "It- um, you- er, it's nice. You look really nice," he said turning beat red and dropping her wrist, "Oh, thanks," Sophie blushed. "Ugh, seriously Blondie, your obliviousness is not that cute anymore. I could spell it out for you, K-E-E-F-," Ro complained breaking the awkward silence, "What? You're not gonna tell her so someone has to, but fine I'll be quiet. For now and only because the others are here." she said when she noticed Keefe's glare. "We should probably go, we have training to do." Sophie grabbed Keefe's hand and dragged him downstairs, "You know, I can walk on my own." he teased "Yeah but your slow," Sophie winked. "Our Blondie is learning well." Ro laughed, Sophie rolled her eyes, "There you are! Where's Grady and Edaline?" Biana asked when they got to Calla's tree, "It's their anniversary so they went out to eat." Sophie said not missing the way Biana was smiling at her and Keefe, she just couldn't figure out why. " So where've you been?You're like always by the tree or with Wynn and Luna," Dex asked, "I was, but I had wrestle them to keep them away from the Gorgodon. Then Keefe got here and he was all, 'Why do you look like you've been wrestling a monster." Sophie mimicked glaring at Keefe, "When did you get good at mimicking?" Wylie asked from the tree, giving Sophie a heart attack. "Sorry, I didn't relies you didn't know I was here," he apologized quickly jumping down from the branch he was on, "No it's fine, it was my fault I should be more aware. And Keefe's been helping we with mimicking." Sophie said wishing she wasn't so oblivious to her surroundings, "So, was Keefe going to slow again?" Biana teased, That's what she was smiling about!! Sophie thought, "Oh uh, yeah. He um always is," Sophie stuttered mentally cursing out Ro and Vertina for putting up her hair so she couldn't hide behind it. "Foster just walks really fast, plus she needed support from tripping over her own feet," Keefe laughed, making Sophie turn even redder. "So, ready for training? I think Ro's training us today," Sophie asked changing to a less embarrassing topic. "Actually, there won't be any training. Also I took the liberty of telling the council not to join us, I've informed them of the plan." Mr.Forkle said from behind them, "Why?" Dex asked, "Don't we have to prepare?" Wylie agreed, "Yes, but I think we need relax before we make our move. Think about it we're always super stressed out AND it's what the Neverseen expect." he continued, there was something so un-Forkle about the way he talked and it made Sophie's stomach twist, by the way Keefe's hand tightened around Sophie - reminding her they were still holding hands- that he caught on too. Does he seem off to you? Sophie transmitted to Keefe, Yeah a little, maybe it's nerves Keefe thought, Maybe but don't let anyone know. If it is something else we don't want to tip them off that we know. Sophie transmitted back, out loud she added, "I guess that makes since, ya'll wanna hang out?" with that Mr.Forkle leaped away, Biana looked down, "I was actually going to visit Fitz and hang out with my family. We haven't had a lot of time to do that recently." she mumbled, "Why do you look so guilty? I get it, tell them I said hi," Sophie said, "My dad needs some help at the store." Dex said after Biana left, "Ok, can we swing by later?" Sophie asked as he got his crystal to leave, Dex nodded and leaped away. "You have anywhere to be?" Sophie asked Keefe once everyone left, "Nope, why scared you'll have to let go of my hand?" Keefe teased, laughing when she blushed and let go, "Seriously though, I don't have anywhere to be. What do you want to do?" he asked, "I don't know, I don't really have much free time usually," Sophie admitted. "Me either. OH! We could get some new prank exilers and prank my dad," he said jumping up and down, Sophie rolled her eyes but she could see the hope in his eyes, and she did hate Keefe's dad because of the years of verbal abuse he did to Keefe sooo, "Sure, why not," Keefe's eyes widened. "Stop acting so surprised, let's go. We're getting food while we're there right?" she asked, "Sure, but I'm paying," he responded. "No way! I am paying," Sophie exclaimed, "Ok, as fun as it is to see you two argue I don't feel like listening to it. So Keefe will pay," Ro cut in, "But Blondie over here gets be protective if the Neverseen show up." she added when she saw Sophie's glare. "Yeah right. Like Gigantor will let her do that, wait where is Gigantor?" Keefe laughed, "He's with Edaline and Grady, I insisted he go because, well I felt better knowing he was watching them. And it took a lot of debating to convince him so let's not have him see me," Sophie answered. "Well if the Neverseen show up then Blondie can go all Rage monster on them." Ro said, "It's not the Neverseen I'm worried about," Sophie mumbled under her breath. "Then who?" Ro asked proving she was just a good a listener as Sandor, "What?" Keefe asked clearly he didn't hear, "She said it wasn't the Neverseen she was worried about, then who is it?" Ro pressed, "Ugh. Alright, the people there don't really like me. They act like I'm like a curse and being around me will get them hurt. Which is fair considering that everyone who's friends with me has almost died.Multiple times." Sophie mumbled, "Ok one, it's called Fostering it now, remember?" Keefe smirked, "And two, you are not a curse, and you can't blame yourself for what the Neverseen do to us." he continued, "I mean it," Keefe took her hands, "You are the great Sophie Foster! You can take down anything, you tackle adorable baby alicorns to keep them safe, AND you are the best friend ever." Keefe tilted her chin so she was looking into his icy blue eyes, "Besides, if they're just jealous they can't be part of the cool team." Keefe smiled, and that was what made Sophie believe his words. For some reason Keefe's smile, his real one not a smirk, is so reassuring. "Ok, let's go. I'm getting hungry and the faster we move the faster we get to prank your dad." Sophie gave a mischievous smile, "I think we're rubbing off on her." Keefe winked at Ro, who rolled her eyes. Sophie laced her hands with Keefe's and Ro's hands as they stepped into the light. "You weren't kidding," Keefe muttered, as soon as they got there the whispering started. The girl who was taken, the experiment, reason Kenric died, freak, unmatchable , surprisingly Sophie caught some good whisperings, hero, brave, regent, powerful, the solution. The last one hit Sophie hard, but nonetheless she tightened her grip of Keefe's hand -which started whispers about that, not that Sophie noticed, she'd tuned them out already- "You ok?" she asked Keefe, "Yeah, Are you? How do you go out with this?" he whispered concern lacing his tone. Sophie shrugged, "I'm used to it, I mean it's always been like that even back when I lived with humans. Besides, it's not all bad, just mostly." "Yeah, I'm hearing a lot about the whole hand holding thing." Ro winked, Sophie turned beat red, "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to- I'm sure you don't want- er you don't want the rumors. With me at least." Sophie stuttered, she tried to let go of Keefe's hand but he tightened his grip, "No, I-um, it's fine, let them think what they want." he blushed and did that thing he does when he gets nervous where he rubs the back of his neck. And then Sophie realized she was staring, "Thanks, want to got get food, or stop by and get the exilers first?" Sophie mumbled looking at the ground. Ro sighed and muttered something about oblivious girls. "I say we go see the Dexter first." Keefe said so loudly several heads turned their way and Sophie tensed so much it was a miracle she could still walk, "Woah, what's up with all the panic?" Keefe said fanning the air between them."Sorry, when you grow up going to school with people 6 years older than you attention gets you beat up." Sophie grumbled, "Oh, yep never mind panic away, sorry I was so loud."he apologized, "It's fine sorry I was being such a grumps. Hey, we're here!" Sophie apologized when they reached Slurps and Burps, "Ready to get our prank on?" Keefe asked, "Hey Dex!" Sophie exclaimed walking threw the shelfs, "Hey Lady Fos-Boss!" Dex called from the back of the store. "I wish you'd stop calling me that," Sophie sighed, "Hey don't be sad because it true." Dex teased coming up to them, "Yeah, like dragging people because their to slow for you." Keefe laughed, Sophie rolled her eyes. "We came to get pranking exilers," she said as Keefe started grabbing some from the shelfs, "Oh? Who are you pranking?" Dex asked, "Keefe's dad," Sophie responded, "GOT IT!" Keefe put a bunch of bottles on the counter, "How much?" he asked, "Free of charge, since you're pranking your dad." Dex said.
