"You look, wow." Vertina breathed as Sophie finished loading weapons into her pockets, "Great, I'll look nice when I'm dead." Sophie grumbled, "That's no way to be thinking." Keefe said from the doorway, making Sophie jump, "Sorry," she mumbled, "Nah, it's fine. Besides I'm used to your panic." he said fanning the air between them, "Anyway, we should get down there." Sophie sighed, Keefe held out his hand grinning, as she rolled her eyes "We're going downstairs for breakfast, I doubt you want to deal with Grady if he saw me dragging you." she said as she almost face planted down the stairs, "Fair point, but let's not bruise yourself before the fight, ok?" Keefe teased as he pulled her up,  he had caught just before she face planted. "Yeah, yeah." she sighed taking extra precaution as she made her way down the steps. "Hey! Oh hey Keefe, I didn't realize you were here." Biana said as they reached the kitchen, "I got here early, Foster should be ever so lucky." Keefe teased wrapping an arm around Sophie who rolled her eyes, "He caught me when I almost fell down the stairs," "I don't know how you survive so many falls." Dex laughed, "Neither do I, but now is not the time. Let's eat!" Edaline said, though Sophie could see the bags under her eyes, as she conjured up some orange gloop that tasted so good Sophie finished in seconds, despite the tight knot of nerves in her stomach.  "Can I talk to you privately for a second?" Biana whispered Sophie, "Sure, where do you want to go?" she raised an eyebrow, "How about your room?" Biana said glancing around at the others, who were so wrapped up in their own conversation no one noticed them. Sophie nodded leading her up to her room, "So what's up?" Sophie asked as Biana closed the door behind them. "It's not about the Neverseen, so I was debating on whether to tell you or not, since it could be a distraction. But, it was eating me up inside, so I had to tell you." she said nervously. "Ok, then tell me. I promise it won't be a problem." Sophie said, Biana sat next to her on the bed, "I have a boy problem. I can't decide if I like Dex or Tam." she whispered holding her breath as she waited for a reply. "Well, I don't know much about boys, but, we could try thinking about it scientifically." she said, "I don't know, I don't think that way like you do." Biana said looking down, "Ok, I didn't want to tell you this before it was confirmed and I could tell the rest." Sophie began in a measured voice, Biana looked up concern in her eyes. "But, I think it's possible Dex was a rat for the Neverseen, at some point in time, but not anymore" she continued not meeting Biana's eyes, "What! How could he do that! The lying scumbag!" Biana whisper shouted her eyes clouded with fury. "Will you be able to forgive him?" Sophie asked, "No!" she replies immediately, "Well, um, I also think Tam joined the Neverseen. For real," Sophie continued keeping her voice low and looking at the ground. The fury in Biana's eyes clear and is replaced by worry, "You don't think they forced him do you? He would never do that!" she cried, a smile spread across Sophie's face, "Wha- why are you smiling?" Biana sputtered, "Because, I just solved your dilemma," Sophie said meeting Biana's eyes, "No one joined or was a rat for the Neverseen," she added when she saw Biana's confusion, "But the fact that you immediately came to Tam's defense and not Dex's answers your question." she finished, realization hit Biana, "I think that is the most stupid thing you have ever done, thank you!!" she said hugging Sophie, "No problem," Sophie said as Biana let go, "So, about the defending Tam thing, isn't that what you did?" Biana asked, "Defended who?" she asked walking towards her door, "Keefe." she said. Sophie turned beat red, "Uh, we should go." she said rushing down the stairs, I don't like Keefe, he's just my friend. I knew he wouldn't do anything wrong, that's all. I like Fitz. Obviously. Sophie thought as she reached the bottom of the stairs. "You ready?"she asked.

Goodbyes were being shared as the groups split up, Sophie made Grady promise to be safe and keep the others safe as well, she pulled Grady into a hug, "Make sure Keefe doesn't do anything dangerous. I'm sure we'll learn about his legacy." she said before she let go of him, she looked at Keefe who was standing over to the side fidgeting, as he always is, "Nervous?" she asks grabbing his hand, "Nah, I think you got that covered for both of us." he smirks fanning the air between them, but behind his smirk Sophie could see the same scared boy she saw at exilum, she reached up and hugged him tightly, suddenly terrified of losing him. Of course, she always was, but it never overcame her like it did now, all she wanted to do was lock him in a room until it was safe. Oh great, now I sound like Sandor,  Sophie thought as she let Keefe go, Sophie stared at his ice blue eyes, and she couldn't stop the nightmare image from flooding into her mind, Keefe's lively ice blue eyes gone cold and empty, Sophie pushed the image away as she tried to think of something to say, but Mr.Forkle interrupted by saying "Ok, it's time to go," Sophie looked at Keefe one more time before the went to their groups. She looked over at Biana who was twisting her hands, "You ok?", "Yeah, I just, I'm worried about Fitz, he's kind of defenseless at the moment." she replied looking down, "Hey," she made Biana look at her, "Fitz in strong and smart, I don't think they would go after him but it they did he could handle them until we got there." Biana nodded, "Now, let's go" Sophie said as the group linked together and leaped away, but the rush of warmth that went through them as they leaped couldn't get rid of the sinking feeling something was going to go wrong. "Oh good you're finally here," Sophie said sarcastically, no matter how anxious she felt she couldn't show it, not that it would get past Lady Giesla. "You can stop with the mock bravery, I can feel your worry from here," Keefe's mother said as she studied her nails, as if this was a waste of her precious time, "I still can't believe you manifested as an Empath," Sophie grumbled, months earlier they had all been shocked when Lady Giesla revealed that she was an Empath, from then on Keefe taught Sophie how to lie to an empath, be confident and use a little truth. "Says the living experiment, I mean you manifested how many abilities, one of which didn't even exist."  Lady Giesla replied looking up from her nails for a split second, "Yeah, but at least I was still in the manifesting age range!" Sophie retorted, the longer she kept talking the more time the other have.  She just rolled her eyes, "Let's not waste time bickering,I know what you want, you want to know Keefe's legacy." she said, giving Sophie a strange look she couldn't figure out. "Why are you in such a rush? Got somewhere to be?" Tam asked stepping beside Sophie, clearly not missing the look either, "Mr.Song, you should know from our time with us time is not a thing to be wasted, it could be used for many things, planning, training, or spying." Lady Giesla said exasperated., glancing over to her side, Sophie followed her gaze surprised when she found someone staring at her, or at least she thought they were it was hard to tell since she could't see their face. And that's when it hit her, the one flaw in their plan, the thing that could ruin everything, he could read her mind.  Sophie went into panic, she tried to calm down so she wouldn't tip off Lady Giesla, but it was to late, "Well, well, well, it appears there is a break in at our hideout." the voice said, RUN! GET OUT OF THERE! Sophie transmitted, she could hear Biana ask how, but she tuned them out KEEFE GET EVERYONE OUT THEY KNOW YOU'RE THERE Sophie's ind stopped short and she left Keefe's mind before she got a response, they hooded telepath had pulled off their hood, it was
