I Won't Ever Hide Alone

Chapter 1: Warped

"So who is the line up for today?" Julian asked his bestfriend, Kara, as they were making their way up to the stage.

Mountain View, California. July, 21st 2019.

"Hold on. Let me see." Kara replied. She dove her hand into her Jean's pocket to pull out the piece of paper she had printed which told them which bands were playing that evening.

Julian watched as she scanned the paper then handed it over to him. He took it from her and read the band lineup to himself.

"Wow. They have some really good ones today. Fuckin Andy Black! What! Atreyu, Sum41, THE USED! Holy shit." Julian loved going to Warped Tour and finding out this year was the last one practically broke his heart. He's been going to Warped Tour since he was 13 years old. He's 21 now and felt like he was just getting started.

"Wait... " Julian was staring confusedly at the paper.

"What?," Kara moved herself right next to him so she could see what he was looking at.

"Who is YungBlud?," Julian asked, confused.

"Where do you see that?," Kara analyzed the paper.

"Here." Julian pointed at the bottom of the list.

"Oh! I actually don't know who that is." Kara admitted.

Julian shrugged his shoulders and handed the list back to Kara. "Well, let's head to the first band, All American Rejects! Woop!"

Julian and Kara ran their way to the stage. All American Rejects weren't playing for another hour but they wanted to make sure they arrived at the stage area a little early.

This was how they met new people, made new friends, and created memories with people they'll probably never see again. It was one of their favorite past times to do as they waited for the bands to play.

"Hey, man, I'm Julian. Who are you here for?" Julian approached some dude with a green mohawk in front of him.

"Hey! I'm Kara. I'm here for Sleeping With Sirens. What about you?" Kara asked a girl who looked to be about 16 years old. She was wearing all black with a pride flag across the chest of her shirt, and sporting some super short bright pink hair. "I'm here for YungBlud!"

"Oh yeah. I saw they were on the line up for today. Never heard of them."

"He isn't a band. He's a solo artist. Sort of." The girl politely corrected Kara.

"Ah! Exciting. Well, I'll be here all evening so I'm sure I'll catch site of him. Enjoy the show!" Kara stated then made her way to Julian, who was now speaking to, what looked like to be, a 50 something year old man.

"Oh wow. So you still come to these things with those hearing aids in?" Julian asked the guy, which in turn made Kara giggle to herself a little.

"Yeah!" The guy shouted, "I love the punk rock music! Always have!" Julian gave a friendly slap to the man's back and said, "That's awesome, man. I hope to be you one day." Then Julian and Kara enthusiastically made their way through the crowd so they could try to get closer to the stage. They made sure to greet as many people as possible as they made their way through the sea of people.

After Julian and Kara rocked out to The Used together, Julian decided he needed some water and Kara decided she needed to go to the bathroom after the 5 bottles of water she already had throughout the evening.
