I Won't Ever Hide Alone

Ch: 23 Something's Wrong

"I assume you and Lori are still together?" Dom asked Julian, even though he already knew the answer.

They were both outside walking around. Julian was supposed to go to the karaoke night that Kara invited him too, but he wasn't sure that he should do anything right now, except lay low and try to make amends with Lori.

"Well, yes. Were... I was going to break up with her soon, I just- there wasn't enough time in between the night prior and now." Julian stated. He felt so terrible, he just kept his head down.

"Well, I definitely didn't expect you to have broken up with her. So don't worry. I just want to know something."

Julian was intrigued, "Yeah?"

"Why were you in a relationship with her if you weren't really into her at all?" 

"Because... I never told anyone I was into dudes except Kara. I also never dated anyone ever before. At least not for real like this. So, I thought maybe it would change me if I at least gave it a shot. Then things just kept getting deeper and more intense with her and I didn't want to hurt her, because she has been through enough already."

"Wow. That's intense. I am sorry about that... but have I not taught you anything?" Dom smiled.

"What do you  mean?" 

"Be who the fuck you want to be. Identify however you want to identify. You're not alone in this world. There are others out there like you, and you will find them. Just like I did. You lot. My fans are my family." Dom always stated this with such passion. It made Julian feel so loved.

"I know... I know. You're right, Dom. I guess I am just..."

"Scared?" Dom finished the sentence for Julian.

"It's obvious isn't it?"

"Listen." Dom stopped walking and placed himself in front of Julian. "I used to be scared too. In England, the people there are not as accepting as people are out here."

"That's saying a lot." Julian said.

"It is. So, what I'm trying to say is that I have never been in this situation before either, but I am willing to try. If I connect with someone, man, woman, whatever, I won't give that up for anything."

Julian knows Dom was just being honest, but it was melting his beating heart anyway. 

Dom didn't wait for Julian to reply. He just grabbed him up in a tight hug and held him close. Julian wanted to stay like this forever.

Then Dom separated from Julian just far enough to kiss him. Julian's heart jumped every time this happened and he knew this had to be what falling for someone felt like.

"Maybe I should talk to her, Dom. What do you think?"

"I think that's a great idea! Just give her some time. She will come around. She seems like a nice person. At least all the things you have told me about her." 

"How are you real?" Julian stated in disbelief.

Dom laughed and wrapped his arm around Julian. "Come on." He said as they started to head back to the house so they could get themselves ready for the event later with Kara.

"Hey guys, come sit. We saved some spots." Kara gestured to the two seats next to her. Julian and Dom sat themselves down and watched as they apparently came just in time for Jared to go on the stage to sing.

"He is about to begin! I'm so excited! I'm telling yah, he's amazing!" Kara chirped.

As the song began, Dom grabbed hold of Julian's hand and smiled over at him. Julian blushed and smiled back.
