We both just stood there, kind of staring at each other another for another minute before Farkle realized his hands were still on my waist and took a step back, raking his hand through his hair. I stood up right and wiped my now-sweaty palms on my skirt, adjusting my hair.

"Um...thanks."I said. "I've never...really been good in heels." He nodded.

"I remember. Lucas had to carry you inside at Prom because you could hardly walk three steps without toppling over." I chuckled nervously, looking at the floor as I remembered.

"Its been a um...a really long time." I said. He nodded.

"Five years." He said. "Last time I saw you, we were both crying hysterically." I nodded.

"Yeah, that was a bad day."  I told him, "But its really really good to see you. In person, and you know...not on the cover of Forbes. Congratulations by the way."

"Thanks, thanks..." He shoved his hands nervously into the pockets of his slacks.

"Ok, why is this so uncomfortable?" I asked. "We used to only be comfortable around each other and now we can't even seen to form a whole sentence without hesitating."

"Well, we haven't talked for five years, the last time we saw each other was when we broke up and I was nervous enough when you were an extremely pretty teenage girl." He said. "And now here you are, a gorgeous grown woman, and everything I know is suddenly completely gone from my brain." I smiled.

"Thank you. But what about you? You're so tall and...buff, I thought you detested physical activity? Where did all of this come from?" I gestured with a hand at his chest. He laughed, his nerves seeming to have dissipated a little.

"Yeah, well, when you're an adult, it gets harder to find time to hang out with your friends, so the only way I could find time to hang out with Lucas was to work out together." He said.

"Ah, I thought you looked familiar." He rolled his eyes and I smiled when suddenly arms were looped through mine on other side. I looked to either side to see that it was Riley and Maya.

"I see you've found our incredibly dorky turned super hot best friend." Maya pointed out.

"Don't let that concern you. He's still the Farkle we know and love." Riley told me.

"Come on, everyone's waiting for you guys at the table." Maya let go of me, leading the way.

"Destiny." Riley whispered before turning around to follow her. I sighed, shaking my head. Farkle laughed, gesturing for me to go ahead before falling into step beside me.

"You hated that, didn't you?" I asked. "Being called 'super hot'?"

"What do you mean? I've always been beautiful." He said.

"Yeah, you joked about thinking that, you never actually thought it." I said, looking up at him. "Not that you weren't attractive back then, because I seem to recall being extremely attracted to you."

"Extremely, huh?" He asked.

"Oh yeah! You and your dorky t-shirts, your denim jackets with the sweatshirt sleeves, I would swoon." He chuckled as we reached the table.

"I'm glad you guys ran into each other." Lucas said.

"Skipper was just over there admiring your handywork." Maya said. "He's one of the smartest guys in the world and he's ripped? You've created a monster, Ranger Rick."

"Ranger Rick?" I asked. "That's still a thing?"

"So is Bucky McBoingBoing." Lucas replied. "Some things never change."
