Lifetimes

- 3 Reunion -

Two years had past and Muichirou has gotten stronger than ever. He master every form of his breath and quickly climbed up the ranks of a slayer. Claiming his spot as the Mist Pillar. Y/n too has advanced quickly in her skills. She was offered the role as the Shadow Pillar, however she turned it down. She felt that her techniques are not up to point of a pillar yet and wish to develop them further before becoming one.

Kagaya Ubuyashiki respected her wishes and allowed her to continue her own training. Muichirou however, felt that she was ready and was clearly upset she wasn't Pillar like him. This resulted in them not being able to see each other as often. Muichirou had to focus on protecting his given location while Y/n got about doing missions assigned to her.  

Until one day

'' ahhhhh.'' Y/n sighed. ''This is good ramen.''  Y/n continues to dig into her food, enjoying the delicious taste of ramen.  ''Kaaa! Ka!'' her crow screamed, flying in front of her. Y/n choked on the soup, startled by her crow. ''What..is it?'' She choked. 

''Y/n L/n is assigned another mission!'' The crow announced.  

''Already? I just finished this one...'' Y/n pouted. 

''Not alone! Not alone! Y/n-san will be accompanied by a Pillar!'' the crow continued. 

''A Pillar? This mission should be serious...who is it?'' She asked. 

''Muichirou Tokito!'' The crow answered. This made Y/n choked in her noodles again. It has been so long seen she saw Muichirou. she couldn't wait. ''Really??? Okokletmefinishthisfirst.'' she coughed before gobbling down her ramen and chugging down the soup. ''Alright done!'' She said with much enthusiasm. Y/n got up from the bench and return the bowl to the small ramen stand. 

''Where to?'' she asked her crow. 

''Head West! A town down west! Muichirou is waiting!'' the crow answered, flying off into the distance to lead her. Y/n excitedly ran after the bird, wondering what kind of mission would it be.

The sun was setting as Y/n set foot into a small town. She walked down a street with only a few people walking down it too. The town was dimly lit with candles and lanterns, enough to see around you. Y/n continued down the street before bumming into a commotion. 

''Hey! What's that costume for huh? And this necklace box?? Is It for your girlfriend??'' A teenage boy teased. Y/n hid behind a wall and observed. ''Please get out of my way.'' a familiar voice rang from the group of boys, which was followed by a famous sigh. 

Y/n knows that sigh from a mile away, its Muichirou. Is he getting bullied? 

Before Muichirou could get away from the group, A boy snatched a box out of his hands. ''I think I'll be taking this.'' He chuckled. Muichirou cast the boy with a death glare as he demanded the box back. ''Oh no??? what are you gonna do huh???'' they teased. 

Before Y/n could step in to help Muichirou, the mint eyed boy had single-handedly pinned the delinquent down as he snatches the box out of his grip. The others proceed to attack Muichirou, however the mint eyed boy was too quick for them and land a kick in each of their stomachs. 

''Tokito!'' Y/n shouted, catching the attention of the boys. Recognising her voice, Muichirou slowly turned to face her. A frown was plastered on her face as she approached the group. She fiercely pointed her finger at the delinquents as she scolded. ''Shame on you people! How could you disrespect a member with high authority?! The only reason why you're alive could be because of us alright! So I suggest you be grateful towards us!'' 

The leader of the delinquents looked straight into y/n's violet eyes before smirking '' You look adorable? Do you want to go out with me sometime?'' He chuckled. Y/n was beyond shocked and immediately froze t his statement. What he didn't know was the angry-looking Muichirou behind Y/n. Before anyone could react, Muichirou landed a swift punch on the delinquent's face before running off, pulling y/n along with him. 

Once he was sure they were far from the group, Muichirou let off a sigh of relief.  ''You alright Y/n-san?'' He turned to check on Y/n who was still stunned. ''How could he- ....How dare that brat just say that so bluntly!'' she gaged, clearly angry. 

''Don't forget why we're here Y/n-san,'' Muichirou stated. ''I suggest we wait for the demon there.'' he continued, pointing at a roof of a tall building. y/n nodded, following Muichirou.

 The two sat quietly as they both scanned the town for any unusual activities. Not a word had been exchanged since the incident. Sometimes, a little silence is what they need. 

''Muichirou...'' Y/n mumbled.

''Hm.'' 

''Have you been taking care of yourself?'' Y/n asked. Muichirou thought for a while before answering. ''Hm, the girls at the butterfly estate are the ones who treat my wounds if you're asking.''He said without sparing a glance at the girl. Y/n nodded even though she knew he wouldn't notice. 

A few minutes of silence has passed again and nothing unusual happened yet. ''Y/n.'' Muichirou mumbled. ''Hm?'' the curious girl look over to the boy. 

The mint eyed boy finally looked up and gazed at her. He thought for a while before scooting closer to Y/n's side. ''I..I heard that we were going to have this mission together so...so I bought this for you.'' Muichirou stuttered holding out the box from before.

Before Y/n could reply, she senses a disturbance in the aura of the town. It's definitely a demon. ''It's here.'' She stated, turning her attention away from Muichirou and towards the town. Getting her point, Muichirou sadly tugged the box safely back into the pockets of his uniform and followed Y/n's eyes.

"AHHHHHH!'' A scream rang from a distance. 

''It's not that far. Come on.'' Y/n said before leaping off and running towards the scream, Muichirou not far behind.
