(Your POV)
You stared at your phone in silence. Kaori hadn't answered although you knew he had read the message. You didn't know what to do. You were getting worried. It wasn't like him not to answer, especially when you still had to give him an explanation to why you had used him as an excuse to go out on Friday. Maybe the party's events had affected him too much. Though, did he even remember what had happened? Or was he too drunk to even understand? Maybe he had forgotten to reply and that was it. You really hoped that was the reason why he had yet to respond since it would be difficult to contact him through other means.
Now that the shooting of the movie was over, you barely saw him. You could go to his house but the security in that neighbourhood was one of the best and if he didn't want to see you, the guard wouldn't allow you inside. So, what could you do?
"You coming?" Karma's voice interrupted your train of thought.
Shaking your head to get rid of those thoughts, you put your phone inside your blazer's pocket and followed him outside. Today was the day he was going to tutor you in maths. You were going to his house in case your mother came home earlier than expected. You didn't want her to find him so at least, if you studied at his house, you wouldn't have that problem. In any case, you would have to come up with an excuse to explain why you were coming home late and probably get punished but it was the lesser of two evils.
You walked with Karma to the main campus, talking about whatever came to mind. Once you arrived at his place, you took your books out and he began explaining the subject. You had insisted him again to study since now that the whole class was competing against class A, you all had to give it your best. However, he had quickly brushed you off since he claimed that he didn't need to since Koro-sensei's hyper-speed study sessions were enough for him. The evening went by like a blur and before you even realized it, it was time for you to go back home.
"So, see you tomorrow," you bid farewell after thanking him a million times for his help.
"Where do you think you're going?" He mused as he closed the door to his house behind him.
"Home," you deadpanned.
"Well, duh," he smiled. "You don't really think I was gonna let you walk home by yourself, do you?" He asked rather amused.
"It's not that far of a walk," you argued.
"What kind of knight in shining armour would I be if I allowed the princess to walk by herself in the dead of the night?" He teased as he began walking.
"Not a really good one I guess," you stifled a laugh as you followed behind.
It wasn't like you were complaining that he wanted to walk you home. It actually filled you with that same warmth you had been experiencing for a while.
'Is this what love feels like?' You thought.
"So, what other birthday party did you go to?" Karma now said as the two of you made your way to your neighborhood. "Seemed pretty important to you."
"Oh, it was Kaori's." You replied, not giving it much thought.
"Himura?" He frowned.
"Yeah." The events from that night ran through your mind.
"Hmm... And how did it go?" He tucked his hands inside his pockets. "You had fun?"
"Well," you grimaced. "It was a bit disappointing at first." You admitted. "He told me it was going to be a movie night with him and some of his friends but the plan suddenly changed and he didn't tell me until I arrived."
"Eh!? Were you alone with him?"
Although his voice wasn't serious and he even seemed pretty chill, you noticed he did seem a bit tenser than usual.
