Be There For You

09.

      The boy had managed to run back home just in time with his nearly broken leg. Making lunch for his father in a hurry, he accidentally burnt his hand but he ignored it and helped his son to bathe before taking a quick shower himself. He then changed and headed out to work, taking his son along with him as he doesn't feel safe with leaving him alone in the house.

     Arriving at the cafe at just the nick of time, he greeted the owner and the employees before taking his son into a room. The owner was very kind towards him and his son and had allowed his son to stay in the room while his mother works.

     Swiftly changing into his uniform, he went towards the tables and took orders from the customers. He felt happy working at the cafe as the place reminded him of his short time working at his aunts cafe.

     When it was almost time for the cafe to close for an hour, the owner had called him in and told him to end his shift an hour earlier. Of course, he obeyed and walked into his office.

"Here (M/N), eat up. I know you didn't eat anything since your shift started.": he ushered the younger to eat which he quietly obeyed.

"Thanks Taeil hyung.": the younger thanked.

"No problem. How are you two doing so far?": the older asked with concern.

"Well I didn't die so I guess we're fine?": the younger joked.

"(M/N), I'm being serious here.": the older said, knowing that the boy would joke around if he wanted to avoid a certain subject.

(M/N) just sighed and placed down the utensils as he already finished eating. "Nothing's changed, he still treats us like trash and hits me everyday like usual.": he replied with a monotone like its nothing.

"Did he do anything to Jun?"

"No, Jun doesn't need to go near him so he's safe for now."

"That's good. But what about you? Where did he hit you?"

"He didn't do anything today, I did everything on time.": the younger replied, making the older huff as a sign of relief.

"Thats good to hear.": he said and checked the time.

"I'm gonna let you off now, go get changed and go home, get some rest. I'll go get Jun.": he patted (M/N) on the shoulder before leaving the room.

     Without asking anymore questions, he obeyed the older and changed into his previous clothes, already seeing his son standing quietly beside Taeil.

"Thanks hyung, I wouldn't be alive now if it weren't for your advises.": (M/N) thanked him with tears in his eyes.

"Its no problem at all (M/N), you're like a little brother that I've always wanted. Call me if you need any help alright?": he hugged the younger.

"Okay.": (M/N) said before pulling away, leaving his son with the older.

"I'll pick you up when the short arm on the clock reaches 12 okay? Listen to Uncle Taeil okay? Mummy loves you.": he crouched down to his son's height and gave him a kiss on the forehead before walking away.

"And (M/N), please becareful when you're working there.": Taeil warned him.

"I know hyung, see you later.": (M/N) waved his hand and walked away.

     Making dinner for his father, he took another quick shower and headed out for work at the night bar. Walking in, he could instantly feel the difference between the cafe and the bar. Ever since that day Jun was made, he had a fear towards bars and clubs but he had no choice but to work at places like these because the pay here is high and he was desperate to find money as quick as possible.
