"Alright class, I think that will be all from me. Thank you.": the teacher announced just a second before the final bell rang.
Snapping back to reality when the sounds of wooden chairs creaking, he followed suit by stuffing the remaining objects into his bag before making a bee line out.
Throughout the whole day, nothing but the upcoming parent conference occupied his mind. He couldn't focus on whatever the teacher taught today, not even the teacher that he rejected, completely ignored as he felt more dreaded about meeting Mrs. Kim more than being awkward in front of him.
Making his way over to the kindergarten with a hunched back and dragged footsteps, he greeted the friendly security guard before walking up the seemingly endless flight of stairs.
Seeing the nameplate stuck on the door frame that read Mrs. Hong's name, he hesitantly knocked before unlocking the door with a heavy heart.
"Well well, if it isn't this barbaric child's trollop mother that likes sleeping around with people. Heard that this time it's the heir of a company's ceo is it not?": the woman smirked proudly with her arms crossed.
"Good evening, Mrs.Kim, Mrs.Hong.": he ignored the woman's harsh words and turned to greet the teacher whom returned with a pitiful look toward him.
"Mama, don't be scared, I'll protect you.": his son went up to him and covered his mother's ears with his tiny hands when he crouched down to give his worried son a hug.
"Don't even start the chit chat with me boy, I don't understand peasant language.": she scoffed before starting again. "Let's get to the point shall we?Tell me which option have you decided on?": she questioned impatiently.
"Well, for someone who managed to make it into motherhood, it's only natural for a self sacrifice yes?": she asked, as if already fully knowing what the other party would answer.
"Y-yes....": he answered with his head lowered, ashamed to face his son on how low he stopped down.
"Excellent, arrive at my house tomorrow at 6 in the morning, don't, even, dare, to be late by a second. And don't you try and run boy.": she warned before walking out with her son both of their noses hung high.
"As arrogant as always...": Mrs.Hong commented.
"That's how most people are when they have the power of money and pride.": (M/N) sighed heavily.
"Well I'll be taking Jun back with me now, thanks for backing me up Mrs. Hong.": he smiled.
"You take care of yourself out there (M/N), and don't take it too harshly alright?": Mrs. Hong advised with concern.
"I will, have a nice evening.": he said before holding onto his son's hand and left.
Walking along the busy cold sidewalks, all (M/N) could think about was the day ahead, what was he going to be tasked with? Does he have to babysit her son? Judging from the way that woman said that commoners all have soiled hands, he doubts that she'll ever let him be 5 meters close to them. And what if theres-
"Mommy, your hands are shaky, are you cold?": his son spoke up, waking him up from his seemingly endless train of thoughts before feeling Jun taking off his scarf to wrap it around both their hands.
"Now mommy won't be cold anymore, cold cold go away!": his son giggled whilst cupping his other hand on top of his mother's.
"Thank you Junnie.": his mother crouched down and gave him a small smile before gently patting him on the head, Jun could feel that his mother was sad but decided not to question as he has already felt like a burden to his mother.
