"okay, dancers gather around!"
ms.jang claps her hands together, calling everyone to gather around where she stood. all of the dancers stood around, panting a bit after their warm up.
"you guys have been working so hard on your duets, so i would like to make a compromise with you."
she pauses, making eye contact with every student before continuing. "if you work extra hard today, i will give you guys a one-week break of practices next week. how does that sound?"
everyone begins to cheer loudly at ms.jang's suggestion, jumping up and down with excitement. quickly, ms.jang shushes everyone.
"don't get too excited, everyone. it is only if you work extra hard today for the next few hours. think you can do that?"
and to that, everyone yells, "yes!"
a smile spreads across ms.jang's face. "alright then," she claps twice, "get to work!"
everyone begins to disperse to meet with their duet partners, as naeun begins to walk further way from jimin to stand in front of the mirror.
before jimin can walk up to her, he is stopped by ms.jang's voice. "jimin!" she calls him, and he walks over.
"yes, ms.jang?"
"i have a huge offer for you." she pipes with a grin, and jimin raises an eyebrow in confusion. "an offer?"
"mhm!" ms.jang hums, nodding. "but, i cannot announce it to everyone just yet, because this is something usually people have to audition for."
"uh, okay..i'm listening." jimin replies, and ms.jang leans closer to him to speak quietly. "i'm giving you the year-end competition solo."
immediately, jimin steps back, with his eyes widened.
just before he could say anything, ms.jang speaks again. "i know you're shocked and everything, i'll give you time to let that wear off. but just know, this is a huge offer and i could only give such things to my favorite dancers."
ms.jang places a hand on his shoulder and caresses it affectionately, like a mother would. however, all jimin could think about was the deal he made with naeun.
