I sat at the table shelling black eyed peas with Max when Casey came in. "Word got to the alpha that you are here. They're sending some warriors out here later to see if you would be any harm to us." Casey said. "Ok. She's still injured so she's not that dangerous." Max said. "That's for them to see for themselves." Casey said. "Because you've been teaching her some self defense moves." Max said.

"Only because her leg is still healing even after a month. She can now defend herself pinned to the ground and not get a bruise or cut." Casey said. There was a thud on the porch. Casey jumped up, drew claws, and looked out the door. "It's a tanned male. Dark blond hair. He's cut up really bad." Casey said.

"See if he is still conscious enough to say anything." I said. Casey exited the house closing the door with the lock on. Max stood and went to the door. "Cass. Stay put." He said. Max stood at the door. "Cass what is your mate's name?" Max asked. "Antonio." I answered.

"It's your mate." Max said as he let Casey inside with him. He looked horrible with bruises everywhere. There were cuts along his body too. "Grab the first aid kit." Casey said. I got up with my good leg and got the first aid kit tossing it to Casey. I was definitely getting around better on my leg than I was last week.

"Cass." I sat down in the floor where he could see me. "Max could you get me a rag and some warm water?" I asked. Max went to the kitchen to get it and placed it next to me. I washed his face. Most of it was caked on dirt. There were tear stains in the dirt and grime. He was barely conscious.

I cleaned around his neck and across his back. Max got me fresh water and slowly added soap to it. Antonio sighed as I made my way down his back. I cleaned his arms and shoulders before going towards his hips. I washed his sides the best I could before cleaning the backs of his legs. I cleaned his feet before Casey wanted to roll him.

Max got me some more water as I finished cleaning his arms and armpits. Antonio tried to reach for me. I held onto his hand with one of mine while cleaning cuts along his ripped stomach. His hold was a weak hold. Casey stitched him up the best he could. I cleaned the front of his legs and around his groin. "We'll take him to the bedroom before you finish cleaning him up." Casey said.

Max helped me stand and dumped the dirty water. "I'll clean the blood up once he's in bed." Max said. I followed them with a towel. I laid it down unfolded making it easier for cleaning. Casey brought me a clean rag and clean water. He shut the door on his way out. "I didn't want you to follow me." I told him.

"I need you." He said rasply. "I needed you months ago." I said. His hand rested on my thigh. "Please finish." He rasped. "Where?" I asked. "Where you didn't clean." He answered. "Are you sure?" I asked him. He nodded. "I still trust you baby." He said. He didn't move his hand as I cleaned his groin. He sighed once I was done.

I covered him up with the towel before using the nightstand to stand up. I put the sheet over his body then a blanket. He tried to reach out to me. I stepped back closer to him. "Don't leave." I leaned down to his face. His other arm reached out to pull me closer. Our foreheads touched briefly. "I'll be back to check on you. Get some rest." I told him. He nodded against me.

I stood up and left the room. I closed the door behind me to make it quieter in the room. "It seems like he's changed." I said. "Give him more time to heal. He may want to explain why he acted the way he did when he's not needing help taking a bath." Casey said to me.
