"Can I go with you?" Antonio asked. "Why?" I asked him. "I don't really want to be by myself with them." He replied. "They're good guys." I told him. "I was also hoping we could talk while walking there." He said. I pondered it for a moment. "Fine. I will say my family is crazy though." I said.
He tailed behind me. I led the way following the scent of my cousin since he walked this way last night. "If your wanting to talk you have until we get to the house." I said. "Ok. I wanted to say that I was going to say something at the beginning of the school year, but my buddies made a pact and they kept talking about it daily.
"I then did what I thought was the next best thing." He said. "Ignore me?" I asked. "No. They wouldn't let me get it out that I had a mate." He said. "Then you could have looked more enthusiastic when you saw me." I said. He pulled me to his chest stopping our walking. He kissed my cheek. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you. I was wanting to keep you safe." He said.
I kissed his jaw. "I was just wanting you to say that you still wanted me and I would have helped you execute that I am your mate." I said. He hugged me a little tighter before letting me go. We continued walking. He clasped my hand lightly knowing that any touch was better than none at all.
We got to my grandparents house and walked up to the front door. Antonio jumped behind me when my grandfather opened the door. "Matthew said you found your mate." He said. "By the looks of it, he's where he needs to be." "Just because he's behind me and you have a scowl on your face doesn't mean anything." I told him.
The older man pulled me into a hug. Then invited us in. I sat down on the couch pulling Antonio next to me. He didn't put an arm behind me like he probably would have. "Do you truly love her?" My grandpa said. "I do sir. It hurt me to watch everything happen to her." Antonio said to my grandfather.
He didn't flinch or show any emotion towards Antonio. "You are going to have to try harder than that to convince me why you should be able to stay with her." The older man said. Antonio nodded. "I know I messed up in the past. I'm willing to change the future by doing what I should have done at the beginning."
He was leaning forward looking directly at my grandfather. "You have one month to show my granddaughter how much you truly love her. You may go back to your home pack if need be. If not, we will open a room here and you both will stay in it until you either hate each other's guts or love each other without fail." He told Antonio.
"I understand." Antonio said. "Please join us for dinner tonight. We still have family business to discuss with her and you are welcome to join." Grandpa said. "I thank you for the offer. I know she will most definitely come and I am wanting to spend as much time with her as I can." Antonio said.
Grandpa looked at his watch. "An hour till. We should have some clothes upstairs that should fit you. She already has clothes here. Please feel free to shower in the spare bedroom bathroom." Grandpa said. I stood up having Antonio follow me. I went straight to the bedroom that grandpa was talking about.
I opened the closet. I grabbed some jeans, a tee shirt and found a bag full of undergarments. "They spoil you." He said standing in the doorway. "They take care of me." I said. I stood up and went to the bathroom. Help yourself to the clothes." I told him. I closed the door and set the clothes on the counter. I pulled a plush towel out along with a washcloth before turning the shower on.
I stripped down before getting in. I got a shower quickly before getting out. As I finished dressing, Antonio was knocking on the door.
