The Alpha Pair

Chapter 1

"Will someone please go to the store with me!?" All Vanadey had been talking about for the past three days was her best friend getting a job at some prestigious company. She wanted to go shopping to surprise Callie Jones with new supplies.
"Sure, Addey, I'll go with you." I mumbled as I ambled down the staircase. I just hope that dad would even let me go. "If that's okay with you, that is, Daddy?" I asked as I walked past the dining hall table.
"Hmm? Oh, yeah sure, whatever." Dad mumbled as he put a few sliced strawberries on his pancakes.
"Okay, cool, thanks..." I trailed off. That wasn't supposed to work. What is this madness?
"Don't question it, Sen, just go with it. I want to go for a run later too!!" I could feel Lucie, my wolf's, excitement, but hell I was just as excited as she was. "Ask him, Sen!! Ask!" Her voice tumbled through my mind causing me to chuckle. "I am, Lu, I am." Was my quick response.
"Hey dad, could we go for a run later? Lucie's itching?" I asked trying to snap one of his strawberries up while he was slicing bananas at the counter.
"No, and hands off my berries, kid." He grumbled without turning around.
"How the hell do you do that?" I asked as I put a strawberry from the container in my mouth.
"Watch your fucking mouth, young lady." Dad glared at me. "I know you, Sen, that's how."
"Sorry, dad." I mumbled before leaving the kitchen to get ready. "Addey, are you ready?"
"Just a minute Sen!" She yelled back. I sighed and put on a pair of black Nike's before leaving my room and sitting on the living room couch playing some game on my phone. "Okay, let's go." Addey said as she walked towards the door.
On the fifteen minute drive to the store we listened to Undercover by Kehlani, I Love Me by Demi Lovato, Chains by Nick Jonas, and about half of Gorilla by Bruno Mars. "Okay, Sen, here's a list of what we need, and then you can add anything you want." Addey handed me a list of 25 things, not including multiple of the same items, and smiled at me before getting out of the car.
We went straight to the office supply section, and she started grabbing random things, some of which weren't on the list. At all. We split up to get everything faster, and twenty minutes later she met me with two carts of all sorts of things. Most of which weren't even for Callie.
"Okay, well, I have the things that you actually came here for. Two five subject notebooks, three different colored organizers, multicolored and black ink pens, eight sticky note pads-" Addey cut me off with an exasperated sigh.
"Sen, what did you get for you? You never get to go out, I wanted you to have fun." She pouts while shuffling through my cart of supplies. "There's nothing in here for you, is there?" She asked looking up at me under her eyelashes.
"Um, no, I didn't get that far. How did you get two carts full in twenty minutes anyways?" I asked as I looked at her carts.
"I do this all the time, I guess. I shop for everyone in the house." She gave me an understanding look before she started taking things out of my cart and putting them in hers. "Okay, Sen, here's dads card, I'm going to go pay for all of this, and you pick out anything you want. Okay?" She hurried off as best she could with two carts before I could say anything.
"Um, okay." I mumbled before looking around. I grabbed myself a couple of notebooks, pens, a coloring book, sudoku, and more paint before I ventured into the beauty section. I grabbed hair ties, black and red nail polish, and a new face scrub in that section before heading to the check out station, making sure to keep my scent masked. "Okay, this should be good." I set the items on the counter and waited for the clerk to ring everything up before paying and leaving. Addey wasn't at the car, though. All her things were there, so I figured she had just went back in for something. I put my items in the trunk before walking back in the store.
"Excuse me, did the girl I came in with happen to come back in?" I asked the guy that just rang me up.
"The pretty redhead, right?" He smiled. "With killer legs, and a nice ass, yeah?"
"My sister, yeah, that's her." I decided to ignore his crude remarks. "She come back in?"
"Ah, no, sorry. Left just before you with Deck." He looked kinda sheepish.
"I'm sorry, who is Deck?" I asked him as my irritation grew. Why would she leave with some dude?
"Oh, he works here, just got off the clock though." He mumbled before grabbing his phone, "I can call him if you want?"
"Ah, no, thanks though." I walked out of the store and sat in the car for ten minutes before I decided to call Addey. "Hey, this is Addey, you know what to do." Voicemail. Of course. "Vanadey where the fuck are you?! I'm worried. I don't know how to get home! Please call me back! Are you oka-" The machine cut me off. I decided to wait for Addey for half an hour at least.
"Thirty minutes, Vanadey! It's been half a fucking hour, and you aren't here!! I need to go home!! Where are you?! My phone is about to die! Call me!!" That's call number 7. "Ugh." I slipped into the drivers side and decided to try my luck with driving home. I knew how to drive, but I left home so rarely that I didn't really know how to get back from here. One and a half hours later, and I'm positive I've made at least three wrong turns. I don't recognize any of these streets, it's getting dark, and there's no service. I found a charger in the glovebox, so that helped with my phone battery. Okay. I can do this. "Lu, can you sniff us home?"
"I'll do what I can, Sen." Was her response. It took us another hour and a half to get home, because I'm a dumbass and I was driving in the wrong direction. I've never been so scared. This isn't like Vanadey.
Walking to the front door, all I wanted to do was cry. How was I going to tell dad, or the rest of my siblings. Guess it's time to find out. Opening the door I kicked off my shoes and went in search of dad. I found him pacing in the study. "Where the fuck have you been, Asena?!" He yelled as soon as he saw me. He was beyond pissed. But I was on the verge of tears. "Hey, sweetie what's wrong?" His features softened and he envelopes me in a hug.
"She's gone, Daddy! She went to put the groceries in the car, and she had me get more stuff, but when I came out she was gone!" I sobbed into his chest. "I called and called and called, but she never answered, Daddy!" I cried  as he held me trying to calm me down.
"Okay, honey, slow down. I can't understand you. It's gonna be okay, Princess." His normally soothing tone wasn't soothing right now. He had to find her! "Okay, now start again, but slowly."
"Vanadey is gone, Dad! She's gone!" I screamed after he let me go. "She went to put the stuff in the car, but she wasn't there when I went out!" I repeated everything that I already said, and then I remembered Deck, or whatever. "The cashier said she left with some dude named Deck, but I think it's short for something." I mumbled into his chest. "I tried to drive myself home, but I went the wrong way, and Lucie had to help me get home."
Dad was shaking at this point, but his gaze was clouded over so I knew he was mind linking someone in the pack. "It's okay, baby girl, it's okay, we'll find her, I promise."
The door to dad's study burst open revealing Garret, one of the warriors. "Alpha, there's an Alpha here, and he's demanding your audience." He bowed before walking away.
"Stay here, Asena, for me?" He asked stopping at the doorway and looking back at me.
"Of course, Dad. Where would I go?" I mumbled before turning to sit in his chair. "I'm gonna try to call Addey again."
"Okay, link me if you get her." He called as he walked out of the office, leaving the door open.
I dialed Addey and waited as it rang, begging her to pick up, to be okay. "Hey, this is Addey, you know what to do." No, not voicemail again.
Just as I was about to dial her again, Lucie started to pace in my mind. "Lu, what is it?" I asked getting up. Maybe she was just restless, I mean she did want to go for a run earlier. An amazing scent filled my nostrils as I made my way to the door. Like oak trees and wet earth after a mid summer rain storm. Like heaven. "Go to it. Follow it! Sen go!" Was Lucie's response.
Following the scent to the front hall, I decided to listen to what the unknown male was saying. "I know she's here! My Beta's brother's newly found mate told me she was here!" This must be the Alpha that wanted to speak with dad. He was yelling at someone, hopefully it dad. But he had to be what smelled so yummy. Yummy, Sen? What the hell is the matter with you? I chided myself in my head.
"You had better watch the way you speak to me in my own home, pup. You might be an Alpha, but I am still your King." Dad growled at the Alpha.
Taking a deep breath to clear my head was a dumb move on my part, as his scent just filled my lungs, causing a low moan to leave my throat. Uh oh. Oh no. Please tell me nobody heard that. My prayers went unanswered as a deep, angry growl sounded from the doorway. A squeak flew past my defenses before I could think about it as I rushed back to Dad's study and slammed the door shut. Another angry growl resounded throughout the house. That one was dad.
I rested my back on the door and worked to catch my breath. Oh Goddess even his angry growl sounded sexy. I opened my eyes and inhaled as much as I could to calm my racing heart. Was that...MY arousal? I pushed my right hand under the band of my sweats to feel my core, and sure enough, just this Alpha's scent and growl made me wet. What is this day?
"You had better leave my home, Alpha Nicaise, before I force you out." Dad's angry words made my heart hurt, I wanted Nic to stay. I wanted him in my bed. "Nic?! In my bed?!? Get a hold of yourself, Sen!" Oh my god. I was just tired from the Vanadey situation. That's all. He was a new person in my lonely life, and I was probably just excited about that.
"But you didn't act this way around that store clerk, and he was new." Lucie mumbled while focusing on the door at my back. She wanted him too. And she had a point.
I opened the door, ready to go back to greet the Alpha, when his next words froze me in my steps, filling my mind with anger, and jealousy. "I know my mate is here! Declan's mate Vanadey told me she would be here!" So she could tell him about whoever his mate was, but she couldn't pick up the phone?! Stupid male. He's probably one of my sisters' mates.
"Mine!!" Lucie growled at me, trying to force control of my body and attack any female that came close to what was ours. "He isn't ours, Lu." I mumbled to her, leaving the office, and heading to give this dick a piece of my mind. This sexy, sexy sounding dick. Who was probably my sister's mate.
As I walked into the front hall again, listening to dad, Alpha Nicaise, and my brother yelling at each other, his scent again shrouded me. Stepping into the front room, a small whimper left my mouth before I could stop it, and suddenly I had six pairs of eyes on me. My dad looked pissed, and worried. His beta, Jacob, looked startled, and slightly pissed. Aiden, Aj for short, my brother, looked ready to attack the two unknown males that had their eyes on me. My soon-to-be-beta, Vincent, couldn't keep his eyes off of the other new male. The only pair of eyes I cared about, though, were the startling ice blue eyes of the Alpha male standing in the doorway. "Mate...." I mumbled as a deep rumbling purr started from his chest. He looked me over, and a sense of pride came over me. He was mine, and he was sexy. His midnight black hair went to his shoulders, he was easily at least 6'8. His piercing gaze held my own honey browns as he walked up to me, sliding a muscled arm around my waist. "Hello, Little One, what's your name?" He murmured as he used his other hand to push my hair behind my ear.
"Get the fuck off my daughter, Nicaise!" Dad's angry voice ruptured our little moment, and I growled as Lucie finally pushed her way to the front.
"Mine!" She growled as my own arms snaked around Nicaise. He was my mate. Destined for me and only me. "My name is Lucie, mate, and my human is Asena Kain." Lucie responded to both my father and Nicaise. She nuzzled her face into his chest, and I almost swooned in front of my dad, and brother! So embarrassing, but unfortunately for me, Lucie wasn't as shy about what she thought or wanted. "Your muscles are amazing, mate, perfection. I could lick them all day if you'd let me." She purred as she licked the cloth over his right pec.
"Oh gross, Lucie." Aj mumbled before leaving the room.
"Enough! Get away from her, Nicaise!" My father yelled again. "For my own sanity and my ears, please." He crossed his arms over his chest and looked away, his own eyes a golden hue, telling me Gaibe, his wolf, was present. I looked at Vince and the other male, to find them with their arms wrapped around each other's waists, talking to Vincent's dad who was my dad's Beta, Jacob.
"Please, Little One, spare your fathers' ears." Nic rumbled out, but he still didn't release me.
"I apologize, father, I'll give you Sen now." Lu mumbled before retreating back into my mind. My face flamed up as soon as I looked up at Nic, and I attempted to leave his arms, but he frowned and tightened his grasp. "Let me go, Nic, please." I looked up at him, and his eyes widened. His Beta laughed as he heard the nickname, earning a growl from my mate.
"Nic?" His chest rumbled with his voice, and the feeling went straight to the juncture between my thighs. "Hmmm, I like it." He hummed. After the third warning growl from my father Nic let his arms drop from my waist, but he moved behind me, and pressed his chest against my back.
"Your Beta's are also mates. Which works well for the merging of packs." Uncle Jake mumbled. I had less than a year before I could take over, as next in line to the throne. Nic growled behind me.
"What do you mean, merging of packs? Asena will be my Luna." He wrapped his arms around my waist, and his hands touched the opposite sides, tickling me causing me to giggle, but what he said pissed me off.
"I'm next in line for the throne, Nicaise, and I'm an Alpha, just like you. Don't call me Luna. And as such, we will be merging our packs. As two mated Alphas do." I growled stepping away from him. I wanted to sound angry, but the thought of us mating gave my growl an aroused undertone. Nic slid his hands over my hips and pulled me back towards him.
"I apologize, Little One, I didn't know you were next in line. Please forgive me?" He mumbled trailing his lips up and down my neck, pausing at the joining of my neck and shoulder, where his Mark would go.
"Enough of this. You said Vanadey met her mate, your Beta's younger brother, yes?" Dad asked Nicaise, which reminded me of how pissed I was at her. I ripped myself out of his arms before spinning around to glare at him.
"Why didn't she pick up her phone?! I swear to the Moon Goddess if that ass wipe took her against her will, I'll hang him by his balls from the ceiling fan! Where is she anyways?!" I shouted at him, putting my hands on my hips. "She left me stranded at the stupid store." I pouted moving my arms to cross them over my chest. "Why didn't you bring her?" I didn't even give him time to answer my questions before I was firing another. Vanadey and I were the closest of all my siblings. Well, her and Maeve.
"You would do well not to yell at me, Little One. I won't hesitate to bend you over my knee. I don't know why your sister didn't answer her phone, and as far as I gathered, Declan didn't take her against her will. I didn't bring her because we ran here, and I didn't want to wait any longer to meet you." Nic's eyes flashed to an alluring silver as they focused on my breasts.
"Watch your threats, pup, you're still in my home, and for everyone's safety, don't make innuendos about my kid in front of me." Dad rumbled. I forgot they were all here, oops. "We need to get you situated for the night, it's late, and Asena gets cranky when she's emotionally exhausted." Dad walked past us towards his study, before stopping and turning around. "And no, you will not be in Asena's room, Alpha Nicaise." He growled before continuing towards his study.
"Very well, Alpha." Was Nic's response, electing a whine from my throat. "Don't make that sound, Little One, I won't be accountable for what happens next." He whispered in my ear.
I rolled my hips back into his upper thighs, and moaned as I felt his bulge against my lower back. "So don't hold back, Mate." I replied with another moan as his hands found my waist. My cheeks heated up as Vincent cleared his throat from behind us. A squeak flew past my lips, and I scampered to my room where I could die from embarrassment in peace. "Goodnight, mate!" Was my hurried goodbye to Nic.
A growl sounded behind me before fast-paced, determined footfalls followed. I reached my door, my face on fire, just in time to turn and see Nic's wolf staring at me a few doors down the hall. I shut and locked the door before he could reach it, however. "Little Mate, open the door. I want to say goodnight properly." He grumbled through the thick oak wood. He sounded so sexy.
"I already said goodnight, Nicaise!" I shouted back, pulling my clothes off, and sliding into a pajama set before climbing into bed. His growl sounded through the door again before his footfalls walked away.
