In the dimly lit studio tucked away in the heart of Los Angeles, the Boomerangs' pre-tour rehearsal unfolded with an electric energy. The rhythmic pulse of Nelly sets the tempo, her sticks dancing across the drums with precision and power. Beside her, Cam's fingers fly across the frets, weaving intricate melodies that fill the room with a vibrant hum, and at the center of it all stands Ramona, her voice soaring through the air like a beacon. With each lyric, she captures emotions both raw and tender, her presence commanding yet deeply emotive. They harmonize, adjust, and experiment, fine-tuning their sound into a seamless tapestry of rock and soul. How I wish to be as talented as them, how I wish to be a whirlwind of passion, precision, and spontaneity, I imagine my body full of freedom and magic, but that's just nonsense, I was made to be behind the scenes. The rehearsal lasted about 40 minutes which was basically what their actual set should last during the concerts.
"Oh my God, guys, you literally are my new favorite band." I squealed. "You're just too nice." Cameron said. "No. You guys are too good." I half yelled. "I can't wait to go on tour and do this every night." Ramona exhaled. "I am so happy to be able to experience this as well." I said. "I love the energy that flows throughout the room when the music is loud." I smiled.
"Well I think we'll call it a day, I am getting tired actually." Nelly whined. "And let's remember Gracie's got somewhere to be." Ramona teased. "Oh god, you too?" I laughed and I looked over to Cameron but he looked like he wasn't in the joke. "I'm just going to leave, I'll see you tomorrow, guys." I waved them off giggling and said my goodbyes. I went to get my things and got out of the studio when my phone buzzed.
Edgar: look behind you, bonita
I could not help it but smile when I read the text. And as soon as I turned around I saw Edgar in his car with the windows down smiling at me. "What are you doing here?" I grinned. "Didn't want my girl to walk home alone." He smiled opening up the door from inside for me to get in.
"Are you taking me home?" I asked. "I am so taking you home but after we go buy some stuff for Maya's arrival." He said. "Is it okay?" He asked. "Of course." I assured. "I am so excited honestly." I said excited. "Shit, I forgot." Eddie exclaimed out of nowhere. "What did you forget?" I asked. "I forgot to book Maya a room." He said.
"A hotel room? Isn't she going to stay at your place?" I asked confused. "Believe it or not when I called her she said she didn't want to stay with three annoying boys." He scoffed making me laugh. "She could stay with me." I shrugged. "Really?" He asked with hopeful eyes. "Of course. Honestly I'd love to have a girl friend over." I happily said.
"Then it's settled." He grinned. "Aren't you going to ask her if she minds?" I asked. "Are you kidding? She has been constantly asking me about you." He smiled. "So you talk about me?" I teased. "Only the bad stuff." He joked. "Hey, I am a good girl." I playfully punched him. "We'll see about that." He whispered in a low voice, squeezing my thigh gently.
"Where are we going?" I asked. "I was thinking about Target. I want to go grocery shopping and maybe buy some girly stuff for you to hang out." He smiled. "Girly stuff? What are we? Five years old?" I snorted. "Hey! I just want my favorite girls to have a nice time." He said acting offended. "You do remember we can't be seen together, right?" I asked. "I fucking hate this." He exclaimed annoyed.
"Hey, it's fine." I gently grabbed the hand he wasn't using to drive. "Look, we can go and buy the things separately." I smiled. "I will go and get our girly stuff." I teased. "You go grocery shopping and then we'll meet at the car, okay?" He sighed. "I just want to go and do normal stuff with my girlfriend." I gasped. "You called me your girlfriend." I couldn't help but grin. "You may not want the title yet but you sure have my heart." He chuckled.
