"Arms I want to be wrapped in, eyes I want to be lost in..."
I was humming along to the song through my headphones as I laid on the sofa. The boys were having rehearsals, they needed to check every song of the album just in case management would change the set list of the tour or one day they felt like singing a song that wasn't already in the setlist. These were the rough days; they had to wake up early in the morning and go to sleep much later than they'd like after a long tiring and busy day, that is why I like doing my best to help them relax and rest as much as they are able to through the 40 minutes of lunch break they have, lunch that I'm in charge of and falls under my responsibility of fangirl assistant. "Hello there." Asher slurred entering the room with a big dimpled smile on his face. I smiled, returning the greeting, getting up to set the table. It was lunch time and it was pizza day, God knows I better hurry the fuck up before Miles gets here.
"God, I'm so hungry." Miles bursted through the door yelling, making us laugh at his behavior. "Jesus, please leave something for the hungry." I joked, shaking my head. "I'm not Jesus, I'm just a hungry and tired guy, one who needs to be energized by food. " He scoffed pretending to feel offended. Asher and I just laughed it off and let him enjoy his "heavenly" pizza -Miles' words, not mine- "Umm, guys, where is Edg..." I was cut off by someone giving me a bear hug, causing me to jump in surprise. "Missing me already?" He asked with a smirk plastered on his face. "You wish." I playfully pushed him. "Now sit your ass down and eat your favorite pizza." I wasn't able to pass him the slice since he wrapped his arms around my waist. "This girl right here knows me so well." He half yelled and started leaving kisses on my face which caused me to giggle. "Ugh get a room you two." Asher whined, half smiling as he took a bite of his second slice. "You guys are gross." Miles threw a napkin at us but Edgar refused to let go of me so he sat down, making me hold onto his lap as he started eating. We were all laughing, making fun of Miles and his extreme love for pizza, they were telling me about how Edgar got hit by Asher, by accident of course, during Don't Stop, and, from time to time, Edgar would stroke my hair.
"Well, isn't this adorable" Shit. The guys turned around to greet Scott, of course they did, they don't know him like I do, they don't know a thing. Scott is Edge of Nowhere's manager, the punk-rock sensation of the moment, the man who orchestrated the circus I'm in and hired me to work for him, well, not him, for the guys specifically. "Gracie, do you think you have a minute for me? I want to go through some business." He smiled. No. Never. Go fuck yourself. Only my friends can call me Gracie. That's what I wanted to answer. "Of course, I'll be right at your office, sir." I fake smiled and turned to Edgar as I got up from his lap, he and the guys nodded and sweet Asher assured me they would clean the table so I wouldn't worry, if only they knew right now my problem isn't the table but the crap I'm about to go through just for them.
I entered the office to find him sitting in front of his desk with an annoying smug smile. "How are you, Miss Montez, it has been a long time." He tried to ease the mood, not getting a reply from me as I sat down across the desk. "Oh c'mon, Gracie. You aren't talking to me? I thought we were friends." He fake cried and acted hurt, taking his right hand to wipe an imaginary tear. I remained silent. There we go again with the fucking name. "Wait... I know what's going on, the mouse ate your tongue, right?" He fake laughed but then got serious again. "Wait... nah, I know what's going on, and perhaps you're tired of kissing Edgar' ass." His gaze was intense. "I don't know what you're talking about, Scott." I remained calm even though I'm about to lose my shit right now. Who the fuck does he think he is, where is this coming from....-well, he just saw you sitting on his lap, my conscience adds- I want to leave already. "That was quite the scene, the rest of the boys didn't seem surprise, they must be used to it, huh" He teased. "Let's get to the point, please. You know I'm good, you know I do my job the way it should be done or did you bring me to complain about my service?" I kept his gaze, he isn't winning. Not today. He sighed. "You're good, Miss Montez. You're great, I have to give you points for always making sure they're happy and spoiling them but... my people don't really like your relationship with Mr. Hayes."
