dedicated to DrHarlequinZel for voting on my story! thanks, it means a lot to me.

I am sitting up against the wall of the large room, where my uncles friends were sitting on the couches, and my father standing in the corner. I put my head on my knees and think back to when I was younger and my father and his brother had a closer connection. (bold Italics means a memory)

"come here you little Natt" my uncle yells, I am no more then four years old, and we are in one of the many  gardens  that scatter  the palace grounds. I am running from Thor  who is wearing his ceremonial cloths, because today was my birthday. my father had to leave because of something for a moment, and so Thor suggested a game of tag.  I had tagged him without a second thought and then started running. My grandparents laughed watching their oldest sons childish antics.

"no" I yelled back at him, but that one word was all it took. I lost my footing and fell, scraping my leg rather badly. I had stood up by the time Thor got their, but the blood running down my leg was enough to scare me. He picked me up and took me over to a small pond nearby, he set me down and dipped the edge of his cape into the pond. I had started crying by this point.

"b-but, uncle y-you'll get your cape dirty" I blubbered while dragging my arm across my face, trying to wipe away the tears.

"that doesn't matter, what matters is that you are hurt, little star, and we cant have that." he responded starting to wipe the rather large scrape that graced my leg.

"dad can use m-magic to h-heal it" I stated, not quite understanding that Thor didn't have the magic my father did.

"well, little one, I am not your father, but I do love you and want to make sure your safe" he said. he finished wiping down my leg and then helped me stand up.

"I love you uncle" I said, hugging his leg, before my father got back. he picked me up and gave Thor a look, I was still young then and didn't understand it, but looking back I can tell it was a look telling him to leave me alone.

I am pulled back to realty by the harsh thought that my uncle would no longer be hear, for who knows how long. I look up to see my father deep in his thoughts obviously not sure what to do, waiting for someone to start the conversation.

"we should never have let him go." Volstagg says out of nowhere.

"There was no stopping him." Sif says, she doesn't look up from the fire.

"well, at least he's only banished, not dead." Fandral says, trying to find the light in this situation. I admired him for that, even if he did look at women as objects. "which is what we'd all be if that guard hadn't told Odin where we'd gone." well, now that the subject is in the air, their going to figure out it was me and my father. I watch as a healer slather's a balm on Volstagg's arm. I look up at my father, who looks down, and swallows, knowing exactly what was going to happen. I look away, and back towards the warrior three.

"how did the guard even know?" Volstagg asks.

"It wasn't a guard." My father says. I watch as all eyes turn to him. "it was my daughter, and she did it because I told her to."

"what" Fandral, who I'll admit is a little slow asks.

"I went to Odin after you left, I'm sorry I took so long, you should never have reached Jotunheim." I say, standing up.

"you told Odin?" Volstagg practically yells at me.

"my daughter saved our lives." my father says. "and Thor's." he adds, almost as an afterthought. "I had no idea Father would banish him for what he did." my father try's to explain his reasoning. I watch as Sif stands up and starts walking towards us.

"Loki. you must go to the Allfather and convince him to change his mind." she tells him, her voice sounding panicked, almost like she was pleading.

"and if I do, then what?" I look down knowing exactly what my father is going to do next." I love Thor more dearly that any of you, but you know what he is. He's arrogant, He's reckless, He's dangerous. you saw how he was today." my father starts to choke so I take over.

"is that what Asgard needs from its king?" I say, before both me and my father quickly walk out of the room. but I use my magic to listen in on what the other four say next. (italics, heard with magic)

"he may speak of the good of Asgard, but he's always been jealous of Thor."

"we should be grateful to Them he saved our lives." thank you Fandral.

"Laufey said, there were traitors in the house of Odin. a master of magic could bring three Jotuns into Asgard."

"Loki's always been one for mischief, but your talking about something else entirely.

I stop listening after that, instead I follow my father. he walks quickly and I realize we are going to the weapons vault. I wonder weather this is about what he told me earlier.  I grab his hand and turn him around starting a mind conversation.(italics is mind talking)

father where are you going?

there is something I have to do little Natt.

does it have to do with what you told me earlier?

yes, yes it does. I must know the truth.

I will come with you

No, you don't need to see this.

if it concerns you it concerns me

"Natt, I must ask that you don't come with me, and that you don't follow me. if what I suspect is true, I will tell you later." he says, bending down and putting his hand on my shoulder. I nod, and he kisses my forehead. he leaves, and doesn't see my smirk. he never said my magic did not have to follow him.
