Chapter 4: The Light in the Dark

SNAP! Went the twigs as I raced through the forest. When I was far enough away from humanity, I sat down by a log. I cried and cried for an hour, after, I had my little moment. I didn't realize that two people were both coming at me...fast!! They were far apart. One was about a mile ahead of the other. How did I know this? Probably because of my high sense of smell and hearing. They both smelled different than other humans which is why I thought they had superpowers. I prepared my self for a battle, even though I could not control my powers. I looked at my claw-like hands.

'Can I kill again?' I thought. Then, out of the murky, eerie, darkness, I heard a voice.

"It all depends of how you look at it," Someone said.

"Who's there!" I shouted the mysteries person stepped out into the light

'It's a girl!' I thought.

"Yes, I am a girl, what about it?" She snapped.

"Well, it's not exactly what I would expect to show up," I said. She smelled like lavender and had on a type of street clothes that looked almost like a business women.

She sighed, "Anyways, back to business, how would you like to go to a place where you can learn how to control your powers?" She said calmly.

"Why would I join you?" I huffed.

"The reason why is so that you don't go and kill the wrong people, after all, you don't want to hurt good people," She said crossly.

'Holy crap, I bet she can read my mind!' I thought.

"Right you are," she said with a smirk.

"Hurry, he's coming!" She exclaimed with concern. As if on cue, another person stepped into the light. I thought this was like a play, because as soon as someone says a name, they appeared. This guy was taller than the girl and much older, about twenty, judging by the smell of aftershave. He was dressed like a business man.

"I hope I am not too late," He said, while tightening his tie.

"Now I would like you to come to a school where only the strongest of us can go to," He said with pride.

"Don't Lucas, he is a villain!" She yelled. I sniffed the air and smelled the scent of the man who had murdered my mom. That guy's scent was on him. Angry, I lunged at him. He dodged it as if it was nothing.

"Well, we had to figure out a way for you to reach your full potential," He said with casualty.

"Never!" I yelled as I swiped at his head. Everything went in slow motion as I swiped at his head. He dodged with super speed that was greater than mine! He kicked me into a tree. I heard something snap in my body. Pain shot up my arm.

"ARGH!!" I yelled clutching my shoulder. It was broken.

"Are you okay, Lucas!" She yelled.

"It would be nice if you could help and not sit there watching!" I screamed. In response, she did the single most stupidest thing ever. She picked up a rock and threw it at him. It hit his head. He turned around and punched her to the ground.

"I think I will kill you first for using such a stupid trick," He sneered. Now, it is a rule that no boy should hit a girl, EVER. When he did that I snapped and in rage, I ran towards him. With such speed I think I broke a sound barrier. Not caring about my shoulder, I threw a punch. He tried to block it, but I think that even if he did, he would have still gone flying. He soared through the trees, colliding with them and breaking them.

As the girl came awake and saw what I did, she gave me a thumbs-up. All I could do was smile before I passed out.
