Chapter 8: The callback

Snap! Went the twigs as I sprinted away from the highschool. "I am never going back there. From now on I will teach my self." I thought as I reached the end of the forest. For the fist few years I was in the streets people would take me in and I would eat then sleep then be gone in the morning. Until I was 16. I had taken a job as a part time stunt devil because of my strength and endurance. Now I live in a hotel that brings us up to date. This is where my story begins.

RING RING! Went my alarm clock. I looked at the time 11:00 pm. "It's time" I thought as I got up out of bed. I strolled into the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror. I was no longer that little kid who could not control my power instead I saw a young man ready for action. My face was more sharp then round and chubby. I changed into my wolf form I saw my sharp teeth and long claws. My brown eyes were now a blood red color. Totally scary if I was not in my street cloths. I looked at my arm which had a cool watch on it. I clicked a button and instantly my body was enveloped in this black suit. On my face there was a mask the kind that only covered the eyes. In the middle of my chest was three red claw marks symbolizing my claws. It was a gift for a scientist who was working on nano mites technology. I saved him and his research from falling in the wrong hands. Now it was time to head out into the city. I opened the window in my apartment and slipped out into the darkness of the night. I bounced from building to building until I came to the tallest building in Southern California. I sat there and listened to the sound of cars going by. I used my super hearing to hear if someone was in trouble. As if on que about a mile away I heard a bank robbery go off now usually I would ignore this and let the cops handle this but that's when I saw fire shoot off in the air. I leaped off the building feeling the wind rush in my face. I grabbed on to an flag pole and flew away. I ran on all fours like a wolf. It was very useful when I wanna get to someplace in a hurry. I was there in a flash I hopped on a building to see what I was dealing with. There were three people there dressed in black and had ski masks on. One of them had fire shooting from his hands fighting the police. While the others were loading the money sacks into a car. "Ok take out the fire guy and the rest will be easy" I thought as I prepared to pounce. Just as I was about to jump at them I was interrupted by someone shooting a blast of water on the guy. The robber was soaked and could not use his flames. I jumped and kicked the robber in the face he was knocked out. I quickly took care of the other robbers as I turned to face the person who had put out the fire dude. It was a girl she looked about 15. She had light brown hair, and brown eyes. "I had that but thank you for the help" I said "yea I know" she said with confidence. "Look you could have gotten yourself killed out there. I would not be celebrating" I snapped. I was irked at the fact that she takes this so lightly. "Well at least I did something!" She hissed "I was checking out the scene!" I said holding back a growl. She had her back turned from the robbers who were knocked out. One of them woke up and was about to shoot her in the back. I used my super hearing to hear a gun being cocked. "Look out!" I yelled as I pulled her out of the way. The person shot me in the chest right in the middle of the chest. I let out a growl and lunged forward. I slashed the guy's throat and killed the other robbers as well. "Damn! Should have killed them when I had the chance" I thought. Blood was pouring out of my chest staining the pavement. "Are you ok" she spoke with concern "yea I heal fast this won't kill me. Now don't try this again! Not without training." I hissed as I jumped up on a building and started for home. Once I got there and sat on the bed I heard a knock. I opened the door to find my land lord there. "Hey is the payment due today?" I asked getting drowsy. "Yea anyway are you ok?! You don't look so good." He said "I am fine just did a stunt where the actor gets shot in the chest and rolls off a waterfall" I dismissed as I handed him the money. I just realized that I did not change back into my normal cloths. "Is that the suit that The Feral guys uses" he questioned. "Yup we are making movie about him" I lied "well ok see you later" he said with that I closed the door. "Whoo!" I thought as I slumped on my bed and fell asleep letting my healing process take over. I woke the next morning to smell eggs and bacon. "Wait! I did not prepare that!" I thought as I jumped out of bed to see the girl that cooking. "What are you doing here!!" I yelled "well since you saved me from that bullet this is me saying thank you." She said I sighed "listen ok thank you but how did you get in?" I questioned "oh yea. Other than my power for controlling water, I can also turn invisible. So I followed you here." A wave of fear griped me I looked down. I was still in my suit "thank god" I thought. The place where the bullet hit me it was healed up and the clothing was all sowed up. "Thank you nano tech" I said. Suddenly my watch was blinking and I felt something trying to get into my mind. It felt friendly and familiar it was Molly!! I let her into my mind "what are you doing here" I asked "Lucas we need you back" she sounded like she meant it. "Why would I go back to the place that killed my friend!" I inquired "I have all of that sorted out because I am the head of the school" "really?" I thought "yes and if you refuse you can't you are an official student body. Also you profile will be hidden in the archives so no one will know what happened." She spoke softly "fine but can I bring in someone. Else?" I offered "of course" she said "I will see you later. Also you have two days before all the rookies come for their first day so you and the persons that you have to hurry." She said and with that she left my mind. I looked back at the girl who was in my apartment room. "My name's Lucas what about you" I said while extending my hand. "Elizabeth" she said as we shook hands. "Listen we have to go there is a place where you can learn to control you power better than you could ever know. We have two days to get to Northern California."I said "wholly crap!" She yelled " I know a shortcut that will get us there in a day" I said and with that we were off I was right we were there in a day. I looked up at the school it looked brand new. "This time it will be different" I thought with a smile.
