Chapter XVIII

Yeesha's POV

I was lost in a moment when he told the old men I'm his girlfriend. I felt it was true. But then when they left I realized it was just a show. My blood boils and went to my head. He's playing with my feelings right now.

I went out in his restaurant and got a taxi and head home. I want to take a rest and talking is not helpful this time.

We didn't use his car when we went out. So I can easily go out and come in.

"Ms. Yeesha,where are they? Aren't you together?" Mr. Tsu asked me. I stopped and answered him that I went home alone since they went to another place together.

I immediately went to my room,change my clothes into my pajama and went to bed. My body is really tired.

Then tears are coming from my eyes. It was like it could reach 1000cubic meters now than before. And my heart seems like it was hit with thousand stab wounds. It is very painful.

A moment passing by,the door opens and someone just sit on the bed beside me.
"Julyenne," mahina nitong sabi.
I never made a moved and pretended to be asleep under the blanket.
"I'm sorry. I was really fool doing that to you."wika nito. I was just observing what will happen next.
" Can you wake up and let's talk?"mahinang sabi nito.
Hindi ako kumilos.
"Okay then,see you tomorrow. "
Nararamdaman kong lumabas na ito at ipinikit ko na ang mga mata.
Hanggang sa nakatulog na ako.

Kinabukasan,tinatamad akong bumangon. I opened my eyes and look at the window. I saw him there standing with his arms crossed in his chest again while looking at me. I close my eyes  hoping that it will fade and because of him I am seeing things right now. Am I crazy now? Am  I insane?
I looked at the window again and saw him there.
"Good morning." bati nito sa akin. Bumangon ako. Dumiretso ako sa banyo para maligo. Maybe it was just a product of my imagination that someday I'll wake up and I could see him in my room,greet me with his handsome face. Oh damn!that was so effective, I saw him now.

When I'm done,I got out from the bathroom with the towel on my body.
Muntik na akong mapasigaw ng magsalita ito.
"Are you going to ignore me?"
wika nito.
"Magbibihis ako,get out!" Sabi ko.
"Then go. I don't watch you." wika nito. Nakakaintindi talaga ito ng Tagalog. I went to my cabinet and pulled some summer dress.
He's looking outside. He's opening the window letting the rays of the sun went through.

Nang natapos akong magbihis ay nagsuklay na ako ng buhok.
"Where is the box that I gave you last Wednesday?"
"Small box?"I asked him.
" you forget?"
"I don't know what you are saying."
"Julyenne, it is a small box I gave last Christmas. Where did you put it?"
Nagsimula na itong maghanap sa box na iyon. Actually,I don't remember the box right now.
"Ang manhid mo kasi kaya hindi mo man lang iningatan ang box na iyon. Ni hindi mo siguro binuksan iyon. " wika nito. I was stunned when  I finally hear him speaking my language.
"It was diamond!"
"Why did you give me diamond?alam mo naman na wala ako sa katinuan ng mga oras na iyon. I was worried about you. Wala akong ibang maisip kundi kung napaano ka sa daan and here I am waiting and I don't know what happen to you."
"Alam ko bang wala ka sa katinuan ng mga oras n iyon?!"
"Kailangan ko pa bang sabihin sayo na wala ako sa katinuan?Next time don't give me anything,gayong magagalit ka kung maiwawala ko."
Nagsimula na akong maghanap.
"Bakit mo ba naman ako binigyan ng diamond,hindi naman ako pawn shop." gigil na sa tanong ko sa kanya.
" hanapin mo,nakakainis."Umalis ito at iniwan akong naguguluhan.
Pilit kong inaalaala kung saan ko nailagay ang box na iyon. Then a memory appeared in my mind. Lumabas ako at naabutan ko siyang nakaupo sa sofa ng living room. Pagod na pagod ang mukha.
"If I found it,you'll be happy?" Tanong ko.
Nag-angat ito ng mukha.
"You'll be happy, I think." Wika ni Arin sa likuran ko.
"Do you know what's inside that box?" I asked him.
"We may be brothers but I don't know his personal life." sabi nito. Tumayo si Aran at iniwan kami. Tinungo ko na rin ang laundry area. At ito rin ang destination nito sa laundry.
"You're washing your clo----"
Natigilan ito ng makita ang box sa drainage ng laundry area. Nadudumihan dahil sa mud nandon. Kinuha nito ang box at binuksan. There I found what's inside.
Isang maliit na ring na may diamond cut sa ibabaw nito. White gold iyon.
"Ano toh?"
"Isangla mo" pagkasabi non ay iniwan na ako.
Napangiti ako. It was a ring.
Is he going to propose to me?
Sinundan ko siya sa loob.
"Aran,what's the meaning of this?" wika ko sa kanya. Now,I was holding the little box and made a glance to the white ring.
Pumanhik ito sa sariling silid.
Lumapit sa akin si Arin.
"What's that?"
"A ring!" wika ko.
Napanganga ito.
"Yeesha,my brother wanted to propose to you but you--you ruined it." Mahinang wika nito. Natawa kami pareho. Lumabas ito at halatang papasok na sa opisina dahil sa hitsura nito.
"I'm going." mahinang wika nito. Dumiretso ito sa kotse and drove off.
"I'm happy for both of you,Yeesha. We are lucky to have you in his life. He is lucky too. But he's being a jerk right now."
"My fault I didn't check this when he gave this to me."
"It's alright. At least you have unique story"
Tumawa ako. Knowing Arin is a blessing in disguise. He is such a good friend of mine. Maybe my life would be very miserable if without him.
