I now sat in another white room, across the desk from me sat my shrink. He cleared his throat.

"Chase, for once, you've gone outside, without having to be forced to... what caused this change?"

I didn't answer, he knew the answer anyways. It was Sarah.

"I hear that you've talked to her. You've said more words to her in two days than you did in three weeks with any of the staff, your family, or even the other patients." He said, sounding amazed.

I didn't care. I wanted to talk to Sarah.

He sighed, and suddenly looked serious.

"Chase. It's great that you're opening up to someone, but just in case... know your boundaries."

I stiffened, staring at the floor. 'Boundaries? What boundaries?'

"What do you mean?" I asked, my voice low.

He raised an eyebrow. I finally spoke to him, and it was a response from being told not to overstep whatever it is I'm not supposed to overstep with Sarah. He knew what I was feeling, thinking, but he didn't say anything.

"Well, not that we should worry but... she's young. And she's been through a lot. She don't need any more heartbreak."

'Heartbreak? I... I would never hurt her.'

"And there are... rules. Rules to how close patients can get with one another. Just, be careful, okay Chase?"

I nodded, like a robot.

"Good. Now, we're not going to separate you two. She's good to your progress, but just don't get too close. We will be monitoring you two."

I didn't care. I just wanted to talk to her more. I just nodded and agreed, not caring, just wishing.
