Great. Another therapy session today with the shrink. It was the same white room as before. Same desk. Same everything. He asked how I was, I'd stay silent. He asks about Sarah, and I shrug, although I couldn't hide the smile that formed at the mention of her name.
I stared out the window, bored out of my mind. The skies were blue without a single cloud in sight. The sounds of birds chirping and singing could faintly be heard through the windows. It was warm for once.
A voice interrupted my thoughts.
"Chase. I have a visitor for you."
More visitors? I'm tired of seeing all these strangers. Why can't they just leave me alone?
I heard the sound of a door opening and a gasp. Turning my head, I caught sight of a curly blond haired girl who immediately hugged me. I froze up, I've never seen her before. Who the hell?
Through tears she said, "Oh god, Chase!!! I've been so worried!" When she finally pulled away at arms length, she stared at me. She saw the mark on my face and something flashed in her eyes. I didn't know what the look was, but she suddenly changed character and turned to the shrink.
"Mr. Cowell, how long does Chase have to be here? The press has been going crazy, they won't leave me in peace!!!" She complained, although she didn't look like she hated it. She flipped her hair, throwing me a smile. I just stared back, a slight frown on my face. For some reason, seeing her, something in my mind connected. What was it?
My shrink responded to her, "Well Ms. Veron, I'm sorry but Chase can't leave yet. His memory hasn't returned. But good news, he's finally made a friend here." The blond smiled, "Oh? What's his name?"
"Her. Her names Sarah." I said. The girl turned slowly, her face full of shock. "Y- you... spoke..." From the angle she sat in, I could clearly see her expression, but the shrink couldn't, she looked scared. In a shaky voice she asked me, "Well. I... I'd like to meet Sarah." At saying her name, her expression darkened. I had this feeling that... I couldn't trust her.
The shrink smiled and said, "Why, of course. I'll have her brought down here, we can all go outdoors to the tree just over there. They usually hang out in that spot."
The girl plastered on a smile as my shrink called someone. He mentioned Sarah's name and some other things, then he hung up. I could feel it, a heavy silence. It was thick in the air, and it was suffocating. I wanted to leave. To get out. But the silence and air's unforgiving wrath lifted the moment Sarah walked in.
She smiled at me, her cheerful voice made my heart skip a beat as she energetically said, "Hi Chase!" I smiled back and waved a bit, "Hey Sarah."
The blond girls cold blue eyes went from Sarah to me and then back to Sarah. She seemed... angry. Why?
With a dark smile, the blond girl stood up straight and said, "Chase, and... Sarah. I'm sorry that you haven't been properly introduced but... It's me, Lindy." She said to me. She turned to Sarah, a smug grin on her face, "And I'm Chase's wife."
