TWO DAYS LATER
5:36 AM

"Wake up."

Your eyes shot open to see Lucifer sitting on the edge of your bed. Immediately, you scuttled backwards, hitting your head on the edge of the board and groaning in pain.

"What the hell, Luci?" You said as you lifted a hand to your scalp. No blood, just pain.

"You've been yelling in your sleep, I came to check up on you."

"I find it hard to believe you came up here just out of the good of your heart." You scowled. He had a new look in his eyes, something you couldn't quite place.

"Well, believe it sweetheart. Are you gonna tell me what was making you so..." He waved his hands around, gesturing to your disheveled being.

You stared at him for a second, then two. Should you really be talking to your essential kidnapper about your nightmares? You would be staying with him for the foreseeable future, so maybe it would help humanize you... get him to drop his guard a little.

"It.."

He snapped his head towards you in anticipation.

"It was about Sam and Dean." You said with a low voice, gather the sheets around your middle as you drew your knees towards your chest.

"Is it... always about Sam and Dean?" He questioned. Why was he questioning you like he cared?

"No, but due to recent events, I think you can see why." You sneered.

"Okay, yes, everything is my fault, I get it. You do know you can fix that, right?"

When you gave him the same empty look that you had before, he took that as his cue to keep talking.

"I have the ability to change people emotions, and so should you. I realized that my presence being on Earth makes you grow more powerful to, so this should be a piece of cake." He smiled, scooting back on the bed.

"How would I do that?" You asked, draping your arms over your knees as you questioned the man in front of you. If he was telling the truth, which you always doubted, maybe this could be good for you. Get rid of your nightmares, your feelings of guilt, and have a chance at a decent state of mind.

"May I?" He said, hovering a hand over your arm and waiting for the green light. You narrowed your eyes at him before reluctantly nodding your head. As soon as his hand touched yours, you erupted in true, unfiltered laughter.

You couldn't contain it, but you felt the happiest you had ever felt. You ripped your hand away from his and it stopped (although you were out of breath for about a second after).

"See?" He smirked at you, earning a slight raise of the corner of your mouth in appreciation. "You can do that subconsciously, too. No more nightmares."

"I can't figure you out." You admitted, climbing out of bed. "You do all these terrible things, you're the devil, then you comfort me after nightmares? Acting like a father?"

"You are, technically, my daughter. By extension. And hell, I just want a chance to spend some time with my kid."

"I had a dad, Luci, and he wasn't you." You said from across the room, leaning on the windowsill as he swung his legs over the bed, running his hands over the bedsheets.

"Franklin (L/n), he was an interesting guy. I'm not trying to replace him, but think of me like a... step-dad?"

"You haven't given me any reason to trust you."

"Then, for once, let me show you why I'm so determined to make you change the world with me, (y/n)! You have to know by now that humanity is flawed beyond relief, I mean my old man did a bang up job with that." He snarled the last part, but you wanted to believe he was sincere.
