"Is that what I think it is?" Asked Thorin, his gaze set on something in the horizon. Nymeria followed it to find,

"Erebor." Nymeria breathed, "The Lonely Mountain the last of the great Dwarf kingdoms of Middle-earth."

"Our home," Thorin said.

Nymeria crept behind Bilbo keeping watch on him. The company wanted her to go with Bilbo to scout, in case he runs into any trouble, Nymeria, being one of the best in the company was sent with him.

"Bilbo..." She hissed, "Bilbo, what did you see?"

Bilbo whirled around, staring at her.

"Wargs, the pale orc one a white one. They didn't see me-" He got cut off by a deep growl. Nymeria pulled Bilbo behind a huge chunk of rock and steadied he bow, arrow in place, waiting to strike. She peered around the rock to see what was growling, to find a huge bear. No. It was bigger.

A skin-changer.

"We have to go." She whispered to Bilbo and they ran tiptoed back to the company, making no noise whatsoever.

They ran down the mountain, making sure not to slip and fall. Nymeria was an elf, she had no problem jumping from rock to rock. But she did have to prevent Bilbo from falling some time to time.

"How close is the pack?" Thorin asked.

"Too close. A couple of leagues, no more. But that's not the worst of it-" Nymeria said but was cut off by Dwalin.

"Have the wargs picked up our scent?" He asked nervously.

"Not yet. But they will do." Nymeria replied, "We have another problem." At that, the dwarves all tensed. Nymeria could feel them thinking about the worst possibilities.

"Did they see you?" Gandalf asked and in a grimmer tone: "They saw you."

"No, that's not it," Bilbo answered and was cut off again as someone else voiced out their fears.

"Did they come this way?" Oin asked, fiddling with his fingers.

"No, no. They did not." Bilbo reassured him.

"What did I tell you? Quiet as a mouse, excellent burglar material." Complemented Gandalf. The dwarves all around they started signing and relaxing.

"Will you listen? Will you just listen?" Nymeria shouted in a shush, waving her hands at the dwarves to make them see her.

"There is something else out there." Bilbo supplied.

"What form did it take?" Gandalf questioned, "Like a bear?"

Nymeria was suspicious, did Gandalf know this creature? Then again, she would not be surprised if he did. He knew a lot of weird people.

"Ye..." Bilbo turned towards Gandalf, surprised that he voiced his thoughts, "Yes, but bigger. Much bigger" Bilbo must have also thought that Gandalf knew something.

"You knew about this beast?" Bofur asked Gandalf, "I say we double back."

"And be run down by a pack of Orcs?" Thorin retorted. All around them dwarves all started a hushed argument about what they will do. Just before a fight started, Nymeria grabbed both Fili and Kili, hoisted them in the air.
