An Old Friend

Lererial and I went back to the city and found a nice quite restaurant, it looked as though it was family owned and operated, most of the time these are the best! We asked to be seated in quietest booth they had. We were seated and looking at the menu. We had come to the right place, they had a large selection of wild game and fish. No droid or robot waiters / waitresses in this place, it was great to see a live being serving tables! This reminded me of my childhood, often times I would have to go to work with my mom and she would sit me at some corner booth while she waited the tables. She was good, she knew just how to make small talk with customers and take care of them to the utmost!

Our waitress was actually a Kitteah, possibly a student working her way through school at the one of the local universities. Lererial had been looking at the menu as the young lady approached and asked, "Are you ready to order or do you need more time?" Lererial jerked her head in the direction of our waitress and immediately was on her feet. She grabbed the young Lady and began to cry her name. "Meroity... Meroity... Sanamet?! You are mated!!!!"

"A young Kitteah male came into the private booth with a worried expression, "Is everything OK? Meroity??"

"Quarlet, this is my friend Lererial, the one I watched be taken away all those cycles ago!"

Quarlet never said anything, he just looked at us and then at the screen of the news behind him. There Lererial and I were in the aftermath of the assassination attempt talking to the police, the sound was muted but the words scrolling across the bottom of the vid told it all. Sartaril Family assaulted by hacked police drone, ACPD suspect an assassination attempt was thwarted by the Sartaril Family themselves. More to come as the investigation proceeds!!

When Meroity turned to face Lererial again, she was waiting and they placed their two foreheads together. Meroity saw it all, the abduction, the slavery, the fight that freed her, Benjy, the Kitts, home, the battles, she saw everything that had happened to the friend she thought was dead. Meroity had never even known that Lererial was Royalty, they had just hung out together and been teen Kitt friends, the best of friends!

Lererial had also seen, Meroity had left Lererial for only a moment to go to the restroom, when she had returned Lererial was her being led off by beings that she knew to be very bad individuals. She had tried to stop them but had been hit from behind and very roughly thrown into a dumpster and left for dead. Quarlet, who is now her mate, was the one who had found her, he was taking out the trash from his Dad's restaurant and heard a moan coming from one of the large trash receptacles. He looked in the trash and found Meroity, and took her to the nearest medical facility.

The police had investigated but had found neither the other girl or the beings that had clubbed Meroity. She was devastated, her friend from another planet, she didn't even know which one, was gone and she felt responsible! How could I have let her be taken, I knew these streets I had been raised on them!!!!

Lererial assured her," It was not your fault, but the fault of the spoiled brat of a Princess that I had become."

"Thank the All Father that you are OK!!!! I have lain awake for many a night wondering just exactly what happened to you. Now I can sleep again!"

Meroity and Quarlet had know right away they wanted to be mates and were mated just a few forte later. Quarlet's dad had decided to open a second restaurant and had put Quarlet and Meroity in charge of it, it was a small place so most of the time it was just the two of them working. It was hard work but they were glad to have the opportunity to be working together and they were doing well.

"Meroity, I'm starving, surprise us with your best choices, as you can probably tell we are big eaters and enjoy a good meal of fresh foods." Lererial stated.
