(Sam)

I didn't get it. How could I feel this way when even I have a girlfriend? I hear it every night, the sound of them moaning and calling each other little nicknames.

I wanted that with him, I wanted to be the one he called baby.

Katrina and I have been together for two years, and some odd months. I fell in love with her, but now it's different. The feeling faded, as I realized I was in love with someone else. Someone I've been in love with since middle school.

Colby is my best friend, we're so close that anyone that's on the outside looking in would think it's more if they caught on to some things we do. On sleepless nights, there would be cuddling. Forehead kisses when hugs are given to cheer one of us up. Hand holding when we need to be reassured of something. The cuddling comes a lot, when we're watching a scary movie, when we're comfortable watching the stars on the roof as we do a lot. See? it'd seem like more to someone who didn't know.

Colby and Shea have been together almost a year, I've lost track of their relationship length because it isn't something I'm worried about.

This night though, I heard it again. The moans and name calling. For some unknown reason, she left. Not staying the night as usual. It really didn't bother me, I big wave of relief drifted over me as I laid in bed on my phone.

There was a steady knock on my door, as I said come in the face of Colby appeared in my room. He was holding what seemed like two blankets. I tried my best not to smile, too much, but he made it so hard.

"Hey.." He almost whispers. I didn't mean to, but my eyes drifted down his shirtless body. His gray joggers hung low causing his v-line to show, and and outline of his member was visible through them.

"Hey, what's up?" I say, focusing as hard as I could on his eyes. I was him blush, but I didn't know why.

"Just.. was gonna go on the roof.. didn't wanna go alone." He mumbled, scratching the back of his neck as if he was embarrassed.

I gently smiled, "I'd love to."

We ventured to the roof, which didn't take very long. Though setting up the ladder was irritating we did it anyway. We've gotten better at it due to going to the roof more frequently, so it didn't take as long. Once we got there, he laid down the one of the blankets he brought. We laid down, and then he covered us both up with the other one.

His arm brushed my hand, and I felt his cold skin. "Jesus, Colbs. You're freezing." I said, I moved closer to him, while I did he wrapped his arm around me.

"Not anymore." He said, giggling to himself, and hearing him giggle I couldn't help but do the same.

We sat in silence for a little while, and it was peaceful. His heartbeat was heard in my ears, I listened and though about how much I wanted to hear that for the rest of my life.

The silence was abruptly broken by the sound of his phone ringing. He grabbed it out of his pocket, my sneaky eye looking at the caller ID and seeing "Baby💞".

He thought he heard Colby sigh, but that can't be right, can it? He looked at me almost looking sorry. I nodded as he walked towards the other end of the roof and talked to her.

I sat up staring at the stars, wishing Colby would be able to come back and cuddle once again.

"Sam?" I hear from beside me. I hum in response, looking at Colby. He looked pitiful, and sorry again, which made me worried. "Uhm.. Shea is coming over again. So, I'm gonna head inside."
