Kageyama's POV

I was dumbfounded by what I just witnessed. The upperclassman that I have always considered to be a rival, was kissing our coach's forehead.

I felt my heart drop for some reason, I wasn't angry, but more... disappointed?

Before our match started, (y/n)-chan explained to everyone the event earlier. "You see... Toru-kun... I mean Oikawa-san is my... boyfriend." she stuttered along her words. Everyone remained quiet trying to grasp the situation and her explanation all together. "I-I know it's quite confusing and more-so awkward, and I'm sorry you had to see that!" she bowed, apologizing. "A-ah... it's okay (l/n)-san teenagers especially your age tends to have relationships..." Takeda-sensei comforted.

"Does Aoba Johsai know?" Coach Ukai asked, "They do. We've been together by some time now." She forced a laugh. "*Sigh* Well make sure to divide club activities and your relationship. They're still our rivals in the end of the day." Coach sighed while scratching his nape in frustration.

The game between Aoba Johsai and Karasuno has already started. As usual, the regulars like me were already placed in the court. The game started with Oikawa-san's powerful serve, yet thanks to (y/n)-chan's trainings, we were able to read the directions of his serves which led Oikawa-san to be quite frustrated.

The minutes that the match has gotten by, the larger the crowds that came in the gym to watch our match. Majority were girls cheering for Oikawa-san while the others watched to see who would win. I glanced at (y/n)-chan and despite the multiple things happening before her, her eyes were completely locked to him. I felt uncomfortable. "Kageyama, focus!" Hinata called out as I didn't realize that the ball was coming my way. I quickly tossed it to him, making him spike the ball at the other side of the court. The referee whistled, pointing at Aoba Johsai, turns out Hinata spiked the ball too hard that it was out.

I sighed yet Hinata turned to me, "Are you even alright?! You've been out of it since earlier!" he asked in frustration. "I'm sorry, I got distracted." I apologized, walking away.

Oikawa's POV

"Woah, did the king just apologized to shrimpy over there?" Iwaizumi said, walking towards me. I let out a small chuckle. "Guess he changed, huh." I mumbled to myself, wiping the sweat on my cheek. I glanced at (y/n)-chan, turns out she was also looking at me. When our eyes met, she got startled and waved at me while smiling nervously. Ah~ She's so cute.

I was also quite distracted during the game, I don't know if it was the fact that my girlfriend was cheering my team's opponents, or the fact that my junior's being eyeing her for some time now.

"Nice toss, Kageyama-kun!" She praised from the benches, yet Tobio-chan ignored her praises and continued on with the game.

The match ended with us winning with a two point gap with Karasuno. They were frustrated yet remained composed. "Good game." Their captain reached his hands on the other side of the net. "Thank you for having us." I shook his hand.

I turned to her and she handed out towels and water bottles to their team. I pouted. "You're too nice." I mumbled.

(Y/n)'s POV

I felt their frustrations as they gathered around by the benches to rest. I helped Shimizu-san handing out towels and their waterbottles. I feel like I should say something...

Of course, I handed out the towel to Kageyama-kun, I took a deep breath and looked at him. "U-uhm...you still did gre-" "Mhm." He hummed, taking the towel from my hand, wiping himself with it while walking away.

I guess he doesn't want to hear it...

I looked at my watch and it was still around 4:30PM. I expected the game to finish around 6 but surprisingly it ended pretty early. As I was packing their things Ukai-san tapped my shoulder, "Say something to them." He whispered. "W-what?! I'm not good with those things!" I panicked, yet he pushed me in front of everyone and forbade me to walk away. I took a deep breath and just decided to go along with it.

Everyone started to look at me, still, with disappointed faces. "U-uhm...I know I'm not good at this...but you all did good today! I believe that your hard works still paid off in one shape or another. You showed everyone here today your true capabilities, and I am beyond proud. In stead of thinking of this as a tragedy, let's use this as a lesson! to work harder and value our skills for the future!" I didn't notice I was already rambling, while they continued to stare at me with those unreadable expressions. "I-i'm sorry...that was too much." I looked away, yet Noya-san started to smile, followed along the others, while Tsukishima and Kageyama were left with a small smirk.

I guess...that worked?

"Excuse me...is (l/n) (y/n) here?" A familiar voice cut us off. I froze. My eyes widened, I wanted to hide yet my body couldn't move. I looked at who it is. It was Aoba Johsai's girl's volleyball team captain, Akane-san.

When she finally saw me a forced smile wore on her face, "Oh great." She held my shoulder. "Here's my cute junior." She said while scanning me from head to toe. "Black doesn't suit you." she clicked her tongue while the other members started to enter the gym.

The boys remained to look at them when Tanaka-san started to argue with her, "Huh?! Who are you?! What gives you the right to talk that way to our coach?!" He glared at them while Suga-san and Asahi-san tried to hold him. She simply laughed in amusement in return, "Seriously, (y/n)? A coach for a bunch of men? You really flopped after getting kicked out." She snickered.

The boys except for the rest of Aoba Johsai and Kageyama were left confused, yet I didn't face them and continued to look at her. "I guess not all of you knew." she rolled her eyes, "well...it's not like it's my business, I'll let you explain that to them." She added while picking up the ball that was rolling in front of her. "Cut the bullshit, Akane-senpai. Why are you here?" I crossed my arms. I couldn't see, but I could tell everyone was startled by the sudden change of my attitude. "Tsk, you've finally revealed your true form." She raised her brow while coming towards me. "We're here for our practice match." She smirked. I opened my mouth yet no words came out, my fist started to shake, yet I refused to look away from her.

"I-I'm sorry (l/n)-san I forgot to inform you that they specifically requested to have a match with you in exchange for the boy's practice match." Takeda-sensei came up from behind, stuttering at his words. "You're really unfair, Akane-senpai, you know I don't have any team with me." I furrowed my brows, shrugging. "You're smart, figure it out. It's not like you can't handle playing by yourself." She turned around walking to her team, we'll start at 4:50PM, we'll be waiting." She had one last look before walking out.

I sighed. "Are you gonna be alright, (y/n)-san?" Daichi-san came up, patting my shoulder, "Say...you have the girl's team right?" I turned to him, tilting my head. "Well...yeah." He looked confused.

Kageyama's POV

Everyone was shocked when her ex-captain revealed stuff out of the blue. Hinata, Noya, and Tanaka were ready to fight yet we decided it was best if we held them off. Oikawa-san continued to watch what was happening before him. Isn't she your girlfriend, dumbass? Why are you just standing there?

Everyone was more shock when she invited (y/n)-chan for a match out of the blue, turns out it was planned and Takeda-sensei just failed to bring it up. The aura between them and us were scary as it felt like they were the only people in the room. Her captain continued to interrogate and challenge her for a match...but how is she gonna do that? (y/n)-chan doesn't have a team.
