*NOTE: This is gonna be a long-ish chapter 😅*

(Y/n)'s POV

I bowed. "Please, help me!"

I found myself in front of Karasuno's girl's volleyball team's captain, Michimiya Yui. She panicked and forced me to keep my head up, "(l/n)-san! Please lift your head!" she shook her hands, "I-it's not that we don't wanna help you...we're just hesitant if we'll be of help. You know we're not that skilled!" she explained, "It doesn't matter if we win or not, please...help me face them." I glanced at her, and she continued to stare at me with a hesitant expression.

She sighed, "Okay." She gave a reassuring smile.

It was time for our match. I decided to change to a new jersey to refresh myself from the sweat the previous one had collected from my body through the whole day. I re-tied my hair up to a ponytail while my bangs continued to fall on my forehead. I saw the anxiety on my team's eyes as Aoba Johsai continued to glance at the girls. During our warm-ups it was obvious they weren't professional level, but they had potential. I tried to remain compose and keep my focus in tact.

Shimizu-san whistled as Aoba started to serve, "M-mine!" the girl from my team called out, yet she wasn't able to receive it. I felt the disappointment of the whole room as our opponents looked confused. "D-don't mind." I tapped her shoulder. She bowed in apology.

Kageyama's POV

Everyone was underwhelmed when (y/n)-chan's team messed up, but I wouldn't imagine how she's feeling right now, especially her pride's at stake. I saw a glimpse of Aoba Johsai's girl's volleyball team captain snickered behind her back. "That Aoba Johsai captain is a b*tch." Tanaka-san commented. "Wait 'til (y/n)-chan unleash her potential!" Noya-san pumped his fist. "I wouldn't hope too much." Sawamura-san butted in. Everyone, including Oikawa turned to him. "You shouldn't forget volleyball is a team sport. Sure, (l/n)-san is skilled, but our girls are in a big disadvantage. (l/n)-san can't carry the whole game herself." He sighed with a sign of anxiousness. "But didn't she just carry it herself back when she was Aoba Johsai's ace?"  I asked, furrowing my brows. "It seemed like that because she was outshining the members," Oikawa walked towards us, "but if you were taking a closer look, her team brought themselves to victory with their skills too, they were also shining, but not as bright as her. My angel wouldn't be able to spike that winning ball if it weren't for the others." he bragged, smirking.

"'My...Angel...?'" everyone mumbled while cringing. He turned to the court once again with a concerned expression, "but since they're opposing each other now...I'm not sure if her shine will complement Karasuno's team just like Aoba did back then with her's, nor her skills are enough to carry your girls through this. Just like captain here said, volleyball is a team sport." he turned to Sawamura-san. "W-why are you talking like you don't support her..." I raised a brow, "Oh I do, In fact I want her to win. I'm just speaking through the perspective of her current opponent." he smiled while eyeing her.

Everyone's eyes turned to the court when Shimizu-san whistled her whistle continuously, signifying the end of the set. My eyes widened when I saw the score board. 15 - 25.

I turned to our girls and they were panting, while (y/n) stood there in a daze. Just like that, Aoba Johsai won the 1st set in 17 minutes.

Fortunately, Karasuno won the 2nd set since Aoba Johsai's captain was benched throughout the set. It was obviously for her to preserve her energy. Yet that didn't lessen the anxiety and fired-up aura around the court as it was a pretty close match. 23 - 25.
