Oikawa's POV
I still remember it quite vividly. It was the beggining of autumn where the air was cooler and the dried leaves started to fall from its branches.
It was a normal day like any other, coming to school, while my gym bag hung around my torso and the backpack embrace my shoulders. I knew carrying so much things that brought so much weight first thing in the morning was not healthy, especially for my posture.
Though it's not like I had any other choice, it was the risk I was willing to make to do this volleyball thing seriously, heck, you can force me to bring a thousand gym bags every morning if it meant for me to be the greatest volleyball player.
Just like always, I changed out from my school uniform to my casual shirt and jersey shorts while I put on my shoes. At that, I entered the gym only to be welcomed by my teammates' familiar faces. "O-Oikawa-senpai! Please teach me this time!" Oh great, it's that boy again. Everytime I came he did nothing but walk up to me with an innocent smile, pleading for me to teach him. It was honestly getting tiring and old at this point, why is he so desperate? "Give it a rest, Tobio-chan." I scoffed, walking away from the boy.
Fortunately, he didn't bother running after me when he just looked back and walked away.
"Yo, Oikawa." Iwaizumi came up, tossing me the ball. "Oh great, it's also you." I playfully teased while he responded with an eye roll. "Well, look who's grumpy. Woke up at the wrong side of the bed this morning?" followed by a chuckle, I remained silent at his snarky comment, gathering up my thoughts.
At that time, I was also confused at myself as to why I felt so frustrated at the time. I knew Tobio was annoying but it didn't drastically affect me to the point it would ruin my day, no one was bothering me or anything, I was fine at home, why was I so sensitive?
"Damn, something's really up. Mind sharing?" he brought up while we started to toss and receive at each other. "I don't know, I am fine. I'm just not in a good mood today." I sighed, tossing the ball back to him, only to be returned with his receive. "Don't tell me you're 'sad'. You need a doctor if that's the case." he emphasized sad for some reason, yet I knew what he was talking about, he was probably just making sure he was not assuming nor anyone was eavesdropping.
I don't know why but I considered it, it took a while for me to process and fit the pieces together yet I couldn't just decide if it was actually true or not. At that, I could only respond safely and logically, "Nah, I'm probably just feeling under the weather. Don't worry." I forced a dry laugh, unfortunately that didn't trick him. After that we were still sitting in silence while tossing and receiving the ball at each other. "Everything just feels the same, you know? It's tiring." I spoke up again, this time, rather than receiving the ball he simply caught it, giving his full attention to me. "Don't get me wrong, I love volleyball and I enjoyed every minute of it and I'm doing pretty neutral to say the least, I just don't get how I'm so tired and frustrated at the moment." I diverted my eyes to him while I ran my fingers through my hair. "Have you considered taking a break?" I flinched with his words which made me look back at him in a confused state. "I mean, I'm not probably the best person to talk to about these things but based on how you're doing, it looks like you just need a breather." he added.

Time flew by fast that day, it was once again time for me to go back to the gym and train. Yet I could only reflect what Iwaizumi has said. Each step felt heavy for some reason, I felt tired and sickly. Everything around me seemed so... bland, it felt like I was walking in an endless slow motioned world, the colors around were pale and I felt so... bored? It was a confusing feeling.
