After the bike ride, August returned the rental while I waited for him back inside the lobby. As I was sitting in one of the chairs, my heart couldn't stop racing. My mind kept replaying the memory of August and me on the bike, my head leaned against his back, my arms around him.
"Stop thinking about that," I mutter, covering my face with my hands, feeling embarrassed. I kick my feet back and forth rapidly to try and shake the feelings away, but it only ended up with stares and more embarrassment.
I could sense that someone was standing over me and I look up, hands away from my face, and I see August. "You ready?" He asks.
"Yeah, I'm ready." I stand up and August begins to walk and I follow him, heading towards the flower garden.
I let out a gasp as we enter, amazed by the sudden burst of color. The flower garden was located in a greenhouse, so you could still see the outdoors and the sun. There was a stone path laid out so you could walk around the garden and not disturb the flowers, and throughout the greenhouse, there was a tree or two covered with vines that had flowers.
"This reminds me of the princess movies I used to watch as a child," I say as August and I walk around. "This place seems so magical, I would've killed to be here when I was younger."
A patch of flowers catch my eye and I walk over to it. It consisted of varying flowers that surrounded the tree, and the sunlight hit the place so well that it almost looked ethereal.
As I stood there in awe, I sense August come up next to me. "Do you want a picture?" He asks.
I turn my head to face him. "Oh, yes please." I take out my phone and hand it to him, positioning myself as he gets ready.
I see August hesitate, and he stands up straight. "Move a little to your left," he instructs me. I move and August motions his hand to my left. "Little more- there we go."
I smile and August takes the picture. "Now, do like a pose or something. You look kind of stiff," I roll my eyes and smile, throwing a peace sign as my pose. August takes a few more pictures with a few more poses to try, and later hands back my phone.
I look through the pictures and my eyes widen slightly. "Wait, this actually looks really good. Are you some sort of-" I look up to talk to August but he already began walking ahead.
"August!" I catch up to him and grab his hand. "Thank you," I say. August doesn't say a word, caught off guard.
"No problem," he mutters soon after. I glance at our hands and I flinch, realizing what I just did.
"Oh, sorry," I begin to pull away but to my surprise, August holds on to my hand. I look up at him, stunned. What the? I think. This is new.
Before I could process it even further, August begins walking and we go through the flower garden, our hands intertwined. I felt a blush creep in as we walked, imagining what we look like to those around us.
I bet we look like those couples I see on T.V, holding hands and being super cheesy. I look down on the ground as my cheeks grow even hotter, imagining August and I like one of those super romantic couples.
"What do you think we're going to do tomorrow?" August asks out of nowhere.
I bite my lip, wondering. "I don't know, but I'm sure Jennie is going to give us some crazy challenge we have to do, like swim with sharks or something."
August's eyes light up when I mention sharks. "You know, that wouldn't be a terrible idea." He says. My eyes widen, shocked at his reaction.
