Alexandria's POV
I don't know how many hours later I was woken, but It was Xander's voice that dragged me from sleep. He had been talking to me in my dreams, but the things he was saying no longer made sense in the dream because it was his real voice. It was disturbing enough to roust me. "Patrols are out everywhere, and all surrounding packs have been called. I also called Xenobia." The confusion rattled me awake.
"She thinks he's alive, and she can help us find him."
"Why would she think that?" Xerxes questioned.
"Technically she does have the best chance, but she is on her way here now. She said she just had one stop to make, but it would go faster for her if we could look for Xavier's car. She gave me a location."
"Perfect because there isn't enough drama in the house right now. Let's just invite in the queen of mean. Why would she know anything about Xavier?" I can hear his exasperation. I make my way out of the giant bed, tying the robe tight and smoothing out my hair. "She's like a shark with blood in the water."
"Trust me! I know, but I am willing to try anything." I have my hand on the door already.
"You think it's safe to have her around before the ceremony. She'd spread her legs like a bitch in heat if she thought it could sway a vote any way she deemed in her favor."
"All the bitches are about to be in heat in a few days. What is one more?" He roared back at him.
Xerxes burst out laughing. "Adda Boy! I think we could both use another drink. Let's get all the succubus under one roof by the light of the Blood Moon, and with one Alpha son missing. I am definitely not drunk enough for this." I was going to enter the room but listening to them was somehow better.
"Blood Moon?"
"How do you even call yourself a wolf let alone the Alpha?"
"Watch yourself." There was more laughter from Xerxes.
"That's why your coming home with a potential Luna at this time is such a big sensation. It's all getting overshadowed though, and now let's enter the one person in the picture who would love nothing more than to claim their right as Luna and get you banished at the same time."
"Xenobia doesn't have any claim as Luna." He scoffed.
"What happens if people found out what Xach knew?" I hear them both sigh. I hear glasses clink. I open the door then too curious to keep listening from the other side. They both are downing their glasses.
"Xavier is as much an heir as you are, and he has the advantage of being here running daily life for so long without you."
"ALL of this is because of me." They both notice me, and quiet down.
"Everyone knows that too! I am just trying to make you aware of EVERYTHING that is being said. You'd be wise to listen to your elders and not make pride your blind spot." He looked at me, "or lust. I know how it is right now for you too, because wolves can mate right away. They don't have to fight the urge. The point is that by the full moon and only by the full moon even a human will be able to give you a wolf. It's supposed to eat away at you. Let me take her to stay anywhere but here."
"No!"
"Damn it! We don't need one more thing on the list right now, just relent!" I could feel the echo in the room of power behind the command that Xerxes gave Xander. It took my breath away. Even Xander put his head down affected. That's what an Alpha command was an absolute demanded response.
Did Xander command me without my knowing it or was it always palpable. Actually, everything between us was palpable. It just created more questions in my mind. Was Xander controlling me? He had the power to.
