IN THE LONG RUN (BOOK 2 OF BAR BLUES!)

Chapter 5:Scooch...

Bobby's Pov:
I am walking hand in hand with Layla around the park when I hear a loud thud. My body swings round to see a beautiful wavy short cut ginger haired girl that has the most crystal like blue eyes that flutter gently before closing, it's Melody, she has been hit to the floor. Quickly, I run towards her my heart pounding in my chest. Is she okay? I can't believe I am seeing her after all these years.

I am only a few foot steps away when I see dark black leathery hands that look like gloves grab her from behind. I stop flat as my body goes into shock at the sight. I was literally centimetres away and then she was gone. Who was that?

Once I regain thought I scramble around the bushes and trees looking for anything that could lead me to her. Nothing. I slowly get up tracing my eyes up and down the bushes when I spot something. I reach out and pick it up, careful of what it could be. It's a flip phone like the ones you see in the movies that they use as burners. Slowly I flip it up clicking on any of the buttons on the keypad to get it to turn on when I see messages from a someone called B flooding through her phone screen.

Agent Rose be careful I have had calls of Mr Faux escaping the insane asylum. They tried to stop him but it appears as if it was planned.

MISSED PHONE CALL FROM B.

Agent Rose are you there?

Rose be careful you know his wanted you ever since that day, you survived!

Agent Rose...

My eyes skim down the list of messages. Who is B? Wait Mr Faux is in a insane asylum? Mr Faux has escaped!

I feel my heart beat fasten. I can't breathe. Everything is going dark. I can't breath. Pain shoots through my body waking me swiftly as I collapse in pain at my leg.

I am mid sweat when I feel a hand gently touch my shoulder. I turn violently to see Layla staring at me in confusion and worry. My heart beat begins to slow down and I feel my breathing slowly readjust going back to normal.

'Are you okay Bobby?' She asks breaking what felt like hours of silence. 'What happened you just ran off and then I see you kneeling on the floor crying and hyperventilating?'

I stare at her in loss for words. Do I tell her? Oh yeah I am okay just had a panic attack because the ex love of my life that made me lose my leg and have a fake one just got kidnapped. Oh and there is a person called B texting her saying the person that almost killed her has escaped. Hang on I have forgot also the person that may have kidnapped me might have kidnapped Melody! Which is the girl who left me in the hospital in the middle of nowhere, where you and your family had to come and get me four years ago without a leg and no explanation. That would go down well.

Note the sarcasm.

'Sorry I thought I saw an ice cream truck and wanted to get one but I hit my leg which hurt like hell even though it's not really my leg' I reply awkwardly laughing as I quickly hide the flip phone in my coat pocket.

'Oka....y' she replies looking at me as if I have lost my mind. I mean I probably have but she doesn't need to know that.

Smooth Bobby real smooth.

Melody's Pov:

My whole body feels woozy as if I had just gone on a roller coaster over five hundred times and went to run but hit my head on a pole because I couldn't run straight. I try to sit up but my eyes begin to black out so I stay down.

I look around me seeing that my hands and legs are tied to each other tightly making sure I cannot move.
Great. I begin to search my surroundings in hopes of an escape when I catch a glimpse of five quite dodgy men that look like the ones who took Bobby.

Wait. My eyes begin to come in focus when I realise they are the men who took Bobby! S**t! I scooch around in hopes to loosen the restraints when a slender looking man with scruffy hair and clothes comes in contact with my face and hits me in the head again knocking me out.

Darkness....
