George's Pov:
Once I took Layla home I headed over to my apartment to get ready, as I walked through the door I felt my skin prickle at the eeriness of the empty hallway.I hate living on my own it makes everything boring and sad, my landlord won't even let me get a dog to fill the void of dear Bobby. Such Fun. Believe me I have tried renting out to people but no one can afford it, Bob's and I are both alright off so it was easy. Not anymore.
***"You ready George?" Bobby asks as he steps onto the landing.
"Yep lets go" I reply grabbing my keys from the side as I shut the door behind me.
We walk in silence down to the car park, not looking at each other just walking with our heads faced forward. Once in the car Bobby stares at me waiting for me to tell him whats wrong.
"What!"
"You know what?"
"Do tell me what because I don't know even if you accuse I do?" Bobby answers.
"I am talking about when you ditched Layla the other night? How could you do that Bobby?"
"She told you?"
"Of course she did I am her brother...she told me not to tell you this but she rang me up to meet her and when I did she burst out crying saying she thinks you are cheating on her?"
"What? I would never do that to Layla! I love her, I would never want to hurt her!" Bobby exclaims.
"Then tell me right now why I should believe you?"
"George you have known me since I was little how could you not trust me?"
"I do trust you but it's my sister man please?"
"I can't"
"What do you mean you can't?"
"I can't tell you!" the words seem to slip out of his mouth as I feel myself relive the shock I felt when he lost his leg four years ago.
"Oh thats nice Bob's" I say sarcastically. "Just stop the car here I'll walk to home"
"Wait!" he yells grabbing my arm.
"What Bobby?"
"I'll...tell you just wait we have to go somewhere quiet"
"Geez okay but you better not be messing with me or I swear..."
"I promise what I will say is the truth" he reassures me.
***Bobby's Pov:
I drive quickly searching for the park, smiling when I see it come in to view as I turn the corner. As I park the car I grab my phone and turn it off so no one can hear me or interrupt."Turn off your phone" I turn and tell George.
"Ok...ayyyy"
We walk for a bit and until we reach the middle of the park.
"So are you gonna tell me or did you drag me out here to kill me? It wouldn't work I mean look at the size and ability difference" he jokes.
I roll my eyes as I begin to tell him everything from how I met Melody that fateful night to how that boy shot me in the arm and leg.
"So what do you think!?" I ask concerned at his puzzled face.
"I think your trying to mess with me!" He yells making me flinch.
"I promise! I swear on my dead parents lives and my nan its the truth!"
"How though?"
"How what?"
"How could you not tell me?" He asks.
"It would risk your life and Melody's"
"Oh okay that makes sense" he replies sarcastically.
"I promise you and I have proof" I reply.
"Where is it?"
"At home in my coat pocket"
"Course it is...so are you gonna show me?"
"Right... back to the car" I gesture him to go in front.
"It's okay we can walk together I am not as angry anymore just worried"
"Seems fair" I chuckle awkwardly "Oh and I don't mean to be a pain but you can't tell anyone!"
"Fine whatever just don't go messing with me about this"
"Erm thanks and I promise I am not"
A few moments later we are at mine and Layla's house, quickly I run in and grab the flip phone when I hear a loud bang coming from upstairs.
Gently I tip toe up the stairs when I spot a extremely tall hooded man dressed all in black going through my draws. I wait quietly behind the banisters watching him scurry his way around.
He stops dead in front of the bed as he collapses onto it a sigh breaking out from his lips.
'Where is it?!' He yells.
Where's what?
He pulls his phone out of his pocket typing letters on the keypad leaving clicks and taps in its wake. I watch carefully trying stupidly to read who he is texting or calling.
Lifting up the phone to his ear sharply he yells 'I can't find it!'.
'Yes I have looked everywhere!'
Scaring the living day lights out of me I turn to find George staring as well at the man.
'Hang on I heard something' the man injects getting up and skimming his surroundings as me and George back up more behind the banisters.
We wait for a few moments when I hear George whisper.
'I believe you'
I nod back sheepishly pointing towards downstairs. George begins to tip toe back down with me in tow as I quickly grab my keys and shut the door.
Once back in the car I begin to dig the flip phone out of my back pocket, making the seatbelt tighten around me.
'Look it's why I ran off I thought I saw Melody but when I got there she was gone and this had fallen on the floor. Open up the text messages!' I state handing the phone over to George.
'S**t!' he shuts the phone and gives it back to me astonished at everything.
'So what was that man looking for?' George asks.
'I am not sure...maybe the phone but how does he know about it? And what made him think it would be here?' I reply puzzled.
'I don't know but what I am sure about is that your a wimp. Why didn't you do something when you saw him?'
'George I'm not new at this and I now know how things play out we was best to let him do what he wants and deal with it later or will just end causing more problems' I say.
'Anyway what's the plan man are we getting your ex-girlfriend?'
'She wasn't my ex, she pretended to love me and I don't know George...I don't know'
