A week passed by in a daze, blurring out the images of school literally beginning to start of a crazy test marathon.

Maya was already on the edge with her stressful state, having her nose stuck in the books day after day — partly to avoid Donghyuck only because she didn't know what to say to him.

She didn't hang out with Seulgi, much less with Donghyuck's other friends, being way too insecure about it and rather keeping to herself through the day, though she noticed them eyeing her but nobody bothered to actually start conversing which was relieving.

"Mingyul!" Maya called as a smile spread on her pinkish lips while she jogged towards the boy to leap into his arms.

"Hey, how are you my love?" Mingyul smiled, reaching to engulf his girlfriend in a tight hug, sun beaming down on the two as the hour struck a little past noon.

"I'm great, got used to this place more." Maya said, intertwining their fingers as they began to walk to the park.

"What about him?" Mingyul grumbled, mood drastically changing as he thought of the previous week.

"Donghyuck? He's alright, doesn't annoy me that much." She inquired while hoping they wouldn't end up having the topic about her roommate because the last things she needed was Mingyul to act out again.

"Good. Because you're only mine." He whispered against her neck, planting a kiss on it and her lips pulled into a smile as she lead the way.

The couple spent some time together, entering the ice cream parlor and joking around as they usually would.

Maya was happy to finally be in his presence after so many days because they've barely talked on the phone — blame it on her studies.

But it all ended too quickly as they walked back and Mingyul had to answer a phone call, leaving her with her own thoughts as she stood by herself.

Her eyes trailed to the screaming kids on the playground who played on the swings, and she crossed her eyes while observing their happiness.

"Babe, I'm really sorry I have to go." Mingyul said in a hurry, glancing towards his car as he rushed to her side minutes later.

"What? What happened? Is there something-" Maya started, worry washing her over as she reached her hand his way.

"I need to get back home, we have some issues. I'll call you tomorrow, yeah?" Mingyul leaned down to peck her forehead, jogging back to his car and driving off and leaving the girl dumbfounded in the middle of a park.

Disappointed.

That's what she felt like, her smiley face turning into a frown rather quickly as she stood there for the next few minutes, contemplating whether she should walk or call a cab to get back to the apartment when her thoughts got interrupted.

"Maya? It's you right?" A light voice of a male erupted through the air, her gaze shifting on the figure coming her way.

"Yeah." She replied, quickly recognizing him as Renjun. He stopped right in front of her, small smile pulling on his lips.
"Hi Renjun."

"What are you doing here by yourself? Where's Donghyuck?"

"He's at home, I guess. I was with my boyfriend, but he had to leave." She explained, as the Chinese boy nodded, hands in his pockets.

"I see." He paused.

"Come with me, I was just leaving from Seulgi's place. I'll take you home." He said, walking towards his car that was nearby and she quickly followed, finding him less intimidating when his face didn't hold a sharp expression- instead, it was replaced by a light, warm smile.

It must be because of his girlfriend.

They made it to the car, the time to the apartment passing by quickly and she got to know that Renjun was indeed a sassy one.

An absolute sweetheart who wasn't afraid to speak his mind, pretty much cursing out every driver on the road.

It left her amused, and occasionally she let out an eruption of giggles for his choice of words.

"Ah, for fucks sake! Move, would ya?" Renjun growled at the slow driver in front of him, rubbing his forehead in distress.
"He probably paid extra cash to get his license."

Maya shrugged, chuckling to herself as the boy turned to her again. "Listen, whatever you do, don't ever be a slow driver."

"You're back?" Donghyuck asked, looking at his watch with a puzzled expression as he sat on the couch, sounds of the TV playing in the background as he held the phone in his hands.

"Yeah. Something came up and Mingyul had to leave." She breathed out, running a hand through her hair.

He hummed in response, glancing at Maya, who walked into her room without further words, plopping in the reclining chair.

She put her hair up into a messy ponytail, exhaling sharply before getting out her books.
