Donghyuck walked into the apartment that night, stressed out and irritated. He was mostly tired from helping Jeno to settle his newly bought couch, but his thoughts continuously wandered back to Maya.

Sliding the jacket off his arms, he didn't expect the girl to sit in the living room with a glass of wine in her small palm- tears sliding down her warm cheeks.

Donghyuck froze, observing her, her head held up by her other palm, eyes bloodshot and hair messed up.

"Maya?" He breathed out, confused.

The girl looked up, sighing as she chugged the wine down and placed the glass on the coffee table while standing up.
Wobbly, she managed to walk towards him and immediately wrapped her arms around his torso, burying her head into his chest.

"What happened?" Donghyuck asked, picking her up and she immediately wrapped her legs around him while he supported her by gripping on her thighs.

However, she didn't reply, only ran her fingers through his hair as he walked towards his room and crawled onto the bed with her.

"Maya, what happened?" He repeated, this time trapping her chin between his fingers and forcing her to look at him.

"Everything. I don't wanna talk about it, just stay with me." She said softly, cuddling into him and Donghyuck didn't ask more, only wrapped his arms around her while caressing her back comfortingly.

They layed in silence, radiating warmth from one another and to them, it was just so normal. Completely average but neither minded because it felt so right.

The peaceful atmosphere helped the girl to calm down and the tears dried, clock striking almost eleven at night.

"Do you think we could ever be something more than just roommates with a very odd relationship?" Maya wondered out loud, eyes closed as she kept her head on Donghyuck's chest that rose and fell continuously.

"Odd relationship?"

"Yeah."

"How is it odd?" Donghyuck muttered, almost half asleep as he heard her chuckle weakly.

"Well, one time we're all in each other's hair and then the next minute we're like this." She spoke in a quiet voice, not knowing how else to explain it.

"We're just that skilled." Donghyuck said, seeming uninterested, not moving at all as sleep was overcoming his body.
"But I'd bang if you wanted."

"Idiot." She smacked him lightly, making him chuckle as he pulled her close, turning to his side to embrace her fully.

"Why were you drinking without me, I thought we had a deal." Donghyuck murmured into to the pillow.

"I don't remember any kind of deal. But I got a little carried away, it's not every day you see an expensive wine bottle in your cupboard."

"A little." He remarked, ignoring the second statement. "A lot, I'd say. Knowing you and how much of a drinker you are, there's probably nothing left."

"Are you saying I'm a drunky?" Maya gasped slightly, offended but he just chuckled. "Where did we even get the wine?"

"Sleep, you're making my head hurt."

"I'll choke you in your sleep." Maya mumbled, processing the words and knowing he had a kinky remark up his sleeve.

"Hm, I'd like to see that. It'd be other way around more likely."

"Goodnight Hyuck."

"Night babe."

Babe.

The morning was approximately just as moody as the night before, the two waking up side by side in his large bed that held much free space since they were tangled together.

"What happened yesterday?" Donghyuck asked softly, eyes showing concern as his eyes stayed on her frame in curiosity.

Maya let out a big sigh before answering. "I had a fight with my mom." She began, "About nonsense, as usual."
Sighing, the girl rubbed her eyes at the bitter memory and layed on her back.

"Mingyul hasn't been answering either. When I called him, a girl picked up and...I'm just too tired to deal with it, I expected it to be honest."

It felt nice having someone to listen. And honestly, even if Donghyuck was usually teasing her until no end, he was actually willing to help her as well and knew when to be serious.

The two of them have developed tight strings and Maya noticed she got happier with him being there each day that passed.

It was like her relationship with Mingyul didn't even exist- it felt like it since the boy completely ignored her.

She cared for Mingyul, she loved him but that love was slowly fading away. They were pretending to be okay even though they had problems before. But spending time with Donghyuck had her almost forget about him.

"You guys have problems?" Donghyuck asked hesitantly, knowing it was a topic more on the sensitive side.

"Yeah but I let it slide every time. I thought maybe he'll change but I guess not." She shrugged, chuckling humourlesssly while glancing sideways.

He was staring at his lap, running a hand through his disheveled hair.
"He's hurting you, it would be better if you broke it off before it gets worse." Donghyuck suggested, raising his eyebrow.

"I know but," She breathed out, scratching the crown of her head. "It's just not that easy."

"It's easy if you make the right decision for yourself and put yourself on the first place."

"But I love him."

"Do you?"

The question took her aback and the girl opened her mouth only to say nothing, rethinking it but all she felt was confusion.

A piece of her heart wanted Mingyul to come back to her but another piece wanted Donghyuck.

Which piece was stronger, she didn't have a clue about but as she looked up into his mesmerising, dark crescents, it was clear that she'd have to think with her head to make the right decision.
