"Guys, we get it. It's your three-month anniversary today, but Jeremy and I do not want to see you guys dry humping in the middle of the cafeteria," Cara covered her eyes with the palm of her hands at the sight of the two lovers, Jordan and Dylan, making out.

Dylan was never one for public displays of affection. He blushed as he pulled away from Jordan, " Oh, did you guys see all of that?"

"Sadly," Jeremy sighed next to Cara, "If we knew you guys would be this lovey-dovey as a couple, we never would have set you guys up at Mark's party."

Cara shoved Jeremy, "Ahem, setting them up at the party was my idea!"

Jordan rolled his eyes jokingly, "Yeah, yeah. We would appreciate it if our two best friends could be happy for us on our three-month anniversary. I mean, Dylan and I have come a long way and I'm proud of us," Jordan held on to his boyfriend's hand as he locked his eyes with him.

"We are! Cara's just been lonely for a long time and needs some dic-

Cara shoved Jeremy once again. She wanted to come back with a retort but her focus shifted to the individual walking towards the group's table, "Speaking of dick."

Calum slid into the chair next to Dylan's and smirked, "Did you guys miss me?"

At the sight of Calum, Jordan made it a point to hold Dylan closer to him by wrapping his arm around his boyfriend's shoulder. "Calum, can you not today? It's my three month anniversary with Jordan and the last thing I need is you desperately trying to peruse me. It hasn't worked in the past year, it won't work today," Dylan sighed.

Calum raised his eyebrows, "It's been three months already?"

Cara and Jeremy nodded as a response.

"Damn Carlson, you move on that quick? I thought we had something going on here," he let out. Calum had always liked Dylan, and perusing him didn't stop when Dylan started dating Jordan. Surely, Calum knew that Dylan would never cheat on Jordan, but deep down he had hoped that Dylan would have a change of heart one day.

Usually, Jordan would play along with Calum's antics just to be nice but he grew tired of these daily persuasions and today he was not letting it go further. "Hey, I'm growing tired of this. When will you quit it?" He sneered.

"Is someone getting a little jealous?" Calum smirked. He enjoyed watching Jordan tick, even though it took a lot to anger him.

Jordan let out a playful laugh, but Dylan could feel Jordan's fists clench in irritation, "Please, I have nothing to be jealous of."

The tense conversation with Calum that day was quickly forgotten as Dylan held his boyfriend's hand as they walked down the pier. He could smell the salty stench coming from the ocean, but the smell of food trucks frying corn dogs and potato sticks overcompensated for it. He couldn't help but curse at himself for not listening to his mother and getting a jacket before he left because the only warmth Dylan was getting was from holding Jordan's hand.

Although Jordan had been talking about his afterschool basketball game, that he had to leave earlier than usual in order to prepare for him and his boyfriend's special night, he couldn't help but wonder how he got so lucky with a boy like Dylan.

The couple had been best friends for many years before they realized that they had feelings for each other. What started as a dare in which they were forced to kiss, allowed them to realize that they liked each other more than just friends. In the following months after their shared drunken kiss, Dylan and Jordan were inseparable.

Jordan and Dylan stopped at a bench overlooking the ocean and had swiped the sand off before sitting down. Jordan had his arm around Dylan as they cuddled tightly, trying to stay warm despite the cold wind. "Can you believe it's our three-month anniversary? You and I have been a couple for three months, " Jordan spoke.

Dylan smiled as he remembered the party and the moment that he felt his boyfriends lips for the first time, "Looking back, I am so grateful that Cara dared us to kiss that night."

Jordan smirked, "She probably got tired of us asking for relationship advice all the time and us being so awkward around each other."

Dylan chuckled. He could distinctively remember all the conversations he's had with Cara about Jordan. He specifically remembers calling Cara with his heart racing after he had accidentally zoned out after staring at Jordan's eyes for too long. Dylan had always admired Jordan's eyes and the way they shined underneath the light. Cara's answer every time used to be, "It's so obvious you guys like each other, both of you are just too scared to initiate anything."

"Well, the dare worked. I mean, look at us now."

Dylan wrapped his fingers around Jordan's and he turned so his back was no longer pressed on him, but so they were face to face. Dylan stared into Jordan's eyes before looking at his boyfriend's lips. Ever since their first kiss at the party, Dylan had always felt a spark whenever he kissed Jordan. Not the kind of spark you get after your first kiss in middle school, but the kind of spark that felt like you were kissing the love of your life and that scared the hell out of him.

As Jordan pulled away, he caressed Dylan's face with the palm of his hand. He had this feeling inside of him that felt exhilarating. Every time he got that feeling his heartbeats ten times faster and his mouth felt tongue-tied. He's had this feeling for a while now, and kissing Dylan that night he finally figured out what that feeling was.

It was love.

"I love you," Jordan let out. He watched as Dylan's face grew into shock. He wondered if he had said it too soon, or if Dylan didn't love him as much as he loved him.

"Jordan... I..." Dylan struggled with what to say. He knew he felt feelings of love towards Jordan, but he didn't have it in him to say it. He felt his breathing hitch as he was taken back to the memory of his last relationship.

"It's okay. You don't need to say it back, Dylan. I know what you've gone through in the past and you don't need to explain yourself. You can take as much time as you need, but I just had to let you know that I love you, Dylan," He confessed, "I had to let you know."

As Dylan fell asleep that night he could help but feel defeated. He wanted so desperately to tell Jordan how much he loved him. He wanted to look into his eyes and say the three words back to him.

But he just couldn't.
