Perrie

Friday came quickly enough and before I knew it, Jonnie was driving Caitlin and I down to the fair. The car ride was mostly a tense silence.

My siblings and I used to be pretty close. When we were younger, I considered them my best friends. I would say up until Jonnie entered high school, we were inseparable. Caitlin and I were still in middle school (I was in eighth grade and Caitlin was in sixth) and suddenly Jonnie was too cool to hang out with his little sisters. Everything kind of stayed like that until I overdosed. Our relationship suddenly shifted again and I found myself alienated from them. Not that I blame them, I know I damaged our family in a way I could never fully fix. But now, they barely speak to me, so it's not like I'm going to go out of my way to speak to them.

"Perrie!" Jonnie practically yelled from the driver's seat, pulling me from my thoughts.

"Yeah?"

"You and Caitlin are gonna hang out, I've got to meet someone."

"Well in that case I've got someone to meet so Caitlin you're on your own." I said.

"Mum said to not leave you alone." Caitlin said from the passenger seat, not looking up from her phone.

"Well she also said to stay together, and Jonnie isn't listening to that"

"Okay but Jonnie is a different story." she fired back.

"Goddamn I'm not a fucking dog okay? Let's just all meet back up at the car at like 11."

"No Perrie, I'm staying with you." she said, right when Jonnie found a parking space. I glanced out the window and quickly spotted Jade in her parked car, looking at something on her phone.

"Why don't you stay with Jonnie? Or call one of your friends or something." I asked, desperately trying to shake her from third wheeling with Jade and I and embarrassing me in front of my friends.

"Mum said to stay with you."

"Yes, I know that but once again, I'm not a dog, or a baby, so I'll be fine on my own, okay?" At that point, I had enough.I jumped out of the car at that point and made my way to Jade's parked car.

"Hey babe," She said, once I got in the passenger seat, "I'm guessing your conversation with Jonnie and Caitlin didn't go very well."

"Nope, they think I need to be babysat." I murmured, putting my head in my hands. Jade rubbed my back to try and calm me down, because frankly, I was mad.

"Don't freak out but your sister is walking towards the car," Jade said, glancing up out the window.

"No please don't let her in," I begged, attempting to pull the best puppy dog face on Jade, hoping she would pity me enough and lock my sister out. Jade smiled at me and pecked me on the lips.

"Sorry babe, I don't have a personal vendetta against your sister." She said just as Caitlin got in the back seat.

"Are you guys done? I want to go in now." Caitlin muttered, still on her phone. I groaned.

"Seriously Caitlin, you can go hang out with your friends or something, I'm fine with Jade." Caitlin narrowed her eyes and glanced between Jade and I before shrugging.

"Alright, don't say I didn't warn you." she said, and jumped out of the car.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Jade asked.

"No idea, but it doesn't matter, she left so we can have a nice night out with our friends, alright?"
