In the world of Miyanin, the Misanye had to face a series of famines, caused by something they called Putrefaction.

The Shadow Lieutenant of this world, Maetou the Hunger Caller, has the ability to summon a mysterious evil that causes food and crops to rot, and whose consumption in this state would cause death.

The first Great Famine occurred in the mid of the III century, where for several years they had to be very careful with food, and it took several years for them to recover once the famine ended.

In the early IV century, a new type of Putrefaction occurred.

It was called the Internal Famine, as it caused putrefaction in the food eaten recently, so this disease directly affected people who were already fed, resulting in being sentenced to death.

Also at the beginning of the IV century another type of Putrefaction occurred.

The rain fell, and with it, on contact with the skin, came the great evil, and thus not only caused putrefaction in food, but also in living beings, causing many more deaths.

The Putrid Rain was the cause of the Contamination of Ais in the first quarter of the IV century.

After this fact, even the Corrupts began to doubt about their loyalty towards Maetou.

Another Putrid Rain occurred in the early V century when the Lieutenant confronted the Misanye who were trying to stop the Corrupts from the north.

In this confrontation, Maetou demonstrated that he could transmit Putrefaction with his own hands, by touching what he wanted to rot.

During the great conflict known as the War of the Doctors, in the first half of the V century, the Corrupts used rocks loaded with putrefying water that they launched with their catapults.

The Sea of Ais was purified in these times, and after a grim outbreak, Maetou summoned another famine that lasted many years, until the middle of the V century, causing havoc.

Maetou's hands began to be affected by his own power and by the contact with what purified Ais, and generated a Putrid Storm that killed many Misanye.

Following this, there were periodic famines.

The years passed, and in the middle of the VI century, the Lieutenant began to lose allies.

Thus, a new Putrid Rain was sent towards his enemies.

At the beginning of the VII century, a Cure for the Putrefaction was elaborated, and its news reached all over the world, and the Corrupted began to rebel against Maetou, because they never forgot the Contamination of Ais.

The so-called Last Famine occurred between the end of the VII century and the beginning of the VIII century.

It was the longest famine that the Misanye suffered, but thanks to the Cure, not a single one died from this evil

And this is how the Misanye had to face the Putrefaction, the terrible evil that could not only kill directly, but also contaminated the food and water it touched, causing the population to lose the food reserves that had been so hard to get them to grow.

But the Misanye resisted, and their great medical knowledge achieved great fame in the rest of the worlds.

Clarification: the Ais Sea, or Sea of Ais, in correct terminology, it should be Lake of Ais. This confusion is because those very big internal water clusters are lakes, not opened to the oceans, but when they are very big, they are called, relatively incorrectly, as seas.
