The next port of call was the cafeteria.

On a normal note, if you didn't want to go, you didn't have to and you could simply eat from the kitchen in your Cabin. Considering it was a first day, we all had to go.

When I saw Bryson and Brady, I immediately went over to them so I wouldn't seem like a loner.

"¡Hola chicos!" I said when I got to the table. The way I sounded legitimate must have surprised them.

"Hold up, what are you even?" Bryson enquired.

"Part Latina. Part African-American. Part White. Part Italiana. My parents are both mixed so I'm a confused mix of everything really," I shrugged. I wasn't lying.

"Sounds like you have very interesting family holidays," Brady suggested.

"Argh! Christmas is the worst," I laughed.

It was actually chaotic.

My paternal grandpa is Jewish so we celebrate Hanukkah since he refuses to join our Christmas festivities. He is white and married my black grandma. Now the problem with her is that for family gatherings, she likes barbecues and backyard party settings.

This puts off my Nonno, maternal grandpa, since he prefers high class balls. Now my abuela is content with anything. She is neutral ground. That's why she's my favorite.

And most of my cousins, well, they don't get along.

Sports is one of the big enemy subjects. Basically my dad's side is for all things American football and my mom's side is for soccer. When we get together, it's rare that we don't argue about sports.

"I can imagine." Brady commented.

The food came soon enough and like the spoiled kids most of us here are, we were personally served. I dug in like the pig that I am. This earned me odd looks from Bryson, Brady and two other boys that had joined us. Isn't this how boys usually eat? I smiled sheepishly with food in my mouth. "I'm uh...."

Surprisingly, Easy came to my rescue, however, indirectly. He got up and stood on top of one of the MT's tables. Everyone was forced to look at him.

"Welcome to The Sakuba Tech and Coding camp. I hope you benefit from this endeavor," he began.

I could tell practically everyone knew who he was.

The great Easy McGuire.

He was probably everybody in the room's idol but he was definitely not mine.
