Nick and Luna returned to Melbourne in the private jet in time for Nick to begin his preparations (such as they were) for the AO. After spending an entire week in each other's pockets, Luna commented to him that perhaps it would be good for them to spend a day or so apart whilst they were busy with their own lives, just to give each other space. As they'd learned, they were both very physically affectionate, and struggled to be near one another without some form of contact. Some breathing room was a good idea.

Luna entered the hotel suite that she, Rafa, Xisca and Maribel had rented for the first time in over a week to see Rafa in the kitchen, attempting to cook. Xisca was nowhere to be seen, and Luna remembered that Maribel would have gone home to Spain by this time. The brunette put her bag down in her room, and then entered the kitchen. Rafa did not turn immediately to greet her, but as his best friend joined him by the bench where he was cutting up vegetables, he glanced at her briefly with a smile.

"Hey," she said quietly.

"You're back," he stated.

"Yeah."

Luna watched her friend calmly chopping a carrot into small pieces, no indication on his face that anything was out of the ordinary. But Luna knew better.

"Are you okay? What's up?"

"I'm fine," he shook his head. "Why wouldn't I be?"

"I don't know, you're just really quiet and... normally you'd be..."

"What, excited to see you?" Rafa shook his head, his voice coming out harshly. "Not everything is about you, Luna."

Luna started, shocked at both the tone of his voice, and his words.

"Okay, something's definitely wrong," she retorted, moving to sit up on the bench, right by where he was working. "Is this about Nick? I thought you said..."

"I know what I said," Rafa shook his head. "Just leave me be for a bit, okay?"

Luna stared at him for a minute, trying to comprehend what he was saying.

"Okay," she shrugged finally, jumping down from the bench again.

She left the kitchen feeling stunned. She hadn't done anything wrong, she knew she hadn't. But it couldn't be a coincidence that Rafa was suddenly acting this way since she'd just gotten home from a trip with one of his biggest rivals. But she honestly thought the hard feelings between them hadn't been that bad. When she'd seen them together since they'd arrived in Australia, they'd been cold, sure, but nothing much worse than that. She wish she understood what they were thinking.

"This is ridiculous."

"You're just jealous, is all."

"No I'm not."

"Don't lie, Stef."

Luna couldn't help smiling a little at Naomi and Stefanos from her position on the couch. Naomi had insisted that there was nothing going on between the two of them, but they were adorable together all the same. The brunette watched as her two friends bickered playfully over who had won their cooking battle.
