Peter's POV
I open my eyes and I see Reagan standing over me.
"Hey," I said softly. Reagan smiled at me and moved toward the door.
"Wait up," I called out as I rushed after her. For some reason, she moved faster than I did, which shocked me. I pushed myself to the max as I followed her down a long corridor. Reagan stopped at the end and turned to me. I slowed until I was standing in front of her. Just then, I realized I didn't recognize where we were.
"Where are we?" I asked Reagan. She put her finger to my lips.
"Shhh. There is no need to fear. I am here with you," Reagan's voice was feathery. Her hand fell to her side. This is when things got really weird. Reagan was wearing one of those white, short, skin tight dresses that queens used to wear. Her wings were dragging along the floor behind her. This was odd considering she carries her wings high and proud. And she wasn't acting like herself either.
"Come with me," Reagan whispered. She took my hand and led me through a door and into a room. It was completely empty besides a couch and a fire in the fireplace. She sat down and I sat down beside her. Reagan placed her hands on my chest and leaned toward me.
"Kiss me," she whispered. I had wanted to so bad, ever since I met her. I wanted it to be in the perfect place, at the perfect time, in the perfect way. But with her acting this way, it didn't seem real.
"Reagan, listen. I really like you but I think your under some kind of mind control or something. This isn't you," I explained. I watched as her face filled with anger.
"Fine. I know someone who actually loves me, unlike you!" Reagan said and I felt like she had slapped me. As if on cue, Aidan walked in the door. I'm just saying this right now. I hate Aidan.
Aidan held out his hand to Reagan and she took it. He pulled her into his arms and she smiled. Tipping her head up, he pressed his lips against hers. I felt like I had just been shot in the heart. I saved Reagan, I promised to be her friend. How did he get her? How did he beat me?
I made a move to stand but only succeeded in sliding on to the floor. Even though it hurt, I couldn't look away from Reagan and Aidan. They hadn't moved apart yet. After a few more minutes, Reagan broke away and turned to me.
"Why are you still here? I don't love you anymore. I choose Aidan. You mean nothing to me. Go away." Aidan pulled her back toward him and she turned her back to me. I had no willpower to stand but I managed to claw my way up the couch and run out of the room. I made it back down the hall before I collapsed in pain and misery. My life is over. Can I die? Can something just kill me now?
"Peter!" A voice shouted at me. I didn't even pick my head up. Who cared who it was?
"Peter, wake up!" I felt something hit me. I sat straight up and realized that I was back at the school.
"Peter, you were having a bad dream," Jean said. She was standing beside me. I was laying on a bed in the healing room. Leaping up, I rushed out of the room and ran down the hall. I stopped in front of a classroom and began tapping my foot impatiently. The class finally dismissed and people walked out. In an instant, I had Aidan's basketball jersey balled up in my hands as I slammed him against the wall. Kids stopped to watch as I slammed him against the wall again and again. He didn't even try to fight me. I think he was shocked.
"You evil, little, selfish, spoiled prat. I hate you! You took her from me! How could you?! I'm going to kill you!" I screamed as I slammed him against the wall again. After a few minutes, most of my strength was gone so I was basically just hanging off his shirt. I looked up at Aidan, my eyes wet with tears. Then, he did something I totally did not expect. He hugged me. I let him though. I looked up and saw that tears were running down his eyes too.
"What is it?" I asked.
"Reagan's gone, Peter. Omega took her. The Xmen are going to send out a search party for her sometime soon." I felt the color drain from my face and my knees buckled.
"Peter!" Aidan said as he caught me by my shoulders. Students stopped to stare at us.
"Listen to me, Quicksilver. We're going to go try to find her tonight. You can come with me ok," Aidan whispered into my ear.
"You know they're going to be torturing her. She might not be alive by the time we make it to her," I barely managed to choke out.
"Have faith."
