The smell of bacon woke Hannah up the next day. At first, she assumed it was from the apartment next door but then she realized her bed was in the wrong place, and the light shade hanging above the bed was the wrong one, and that she was naked. She jolted up and looked around the room as her sight fell on her clothes from the day before and she rushed over to start pulling them on.
"Hey. I was just coming to wake you for breakfast" a manly voice startled her and she looked over at the doorway to see who it was she went home with.
"Uh. Hi. Do you happen to know where I left my phone?" she asked. She couldn't remember his name. "Or even know the time. I can't be late for work"
"I saw your phone out on the coffee table in the living room. It's about 7:30 now, what time do you need to be at work?" he questioned. He was actually pretty hot.
"What! Oh no! I'm going to be late!" she worried as she rushed to pull her jeans up her legs and looked for her shoes. "I would love to stay for breakfast but I can't be late for work I'm still the new girl" she said pulling one of her boots on and reaching for the other one "but I had a really good time last night..."
"Jay" he filled in for her "I probably shouldn't have suggested those shots last night" he joked.
"Oh no I love shots, shots just don't love me" she giggled "anyways... thanks for the fun Jay hopefully I'll see you around" she rushed past him but he stopped her and pulled her into a kiss.
"Do you need a ride?" he asked as she stepped back from him. "The firehouse is about a ten-minute drive from here"
"Oh no, I'm good. I could use the jog" she said and grabbed her phone and made her way out the door. "Thanks!"
"Hannah Karev what were you thinking" she whispered to herself as she made her towards the elevator. She got to the firehouse with about five minutes to spare and quickly changed into her uniform and making her way towards the meeting room for their morning agenda.
"Chief so sorry I'm late... " she trailed off, noticing it wasn't Boden stood at the front of the room.
"As I was saying, for the second time, on my watch, if you're not 15 minutes early, you're 15 minutes late" Hannah sheepishly took a seat at the back "The shift before you appreciate your punctuality, as I'm sure you do the shift that follows. That said, I'm only at 51 for half a shift, and I've got nothing but respect for Wallace Boden. So lets all power through the next few hours and get you back in his capable hands. Sound good?"
